"Riley Stone," The woman with a loud mega phone blasted from the center of the flats.
I stood up shakily, I just had to lie, I could do that right? I internally stabbed myself for not having discussed an alibi with Cole and Zach.
I purposely dropped my phone on the grass next to Cole as I walked past, "None of us were together this morning." I whispered before getting up and continuing to the center.
There a teacher lead me into a small portable which was painted a dark blue, I climbed up the small steps and opened the door.
Dean Asher was seated behind a cramped desk which made him look too large for the space.
"Orielle Stone," He greeted impassively.
"Dean Asher."
"How have you been?"
"Fine."
He sighed leaning back, "I'm going to cut to the point here Riley, where were you this morning at around five to seven am?"
A skill that I had developed through out the years of knowing Cole was impeccable lying skills, "Sleeping."
I didn’t have a tell for when I lied, in fact I looked exactly how I did on a normal basis. The trick to lying was making yourself believe what you were saying, if you truly believed that you were sleeping you could control your heart beat, breathing and your pulse thus not having a twitch.
"You were quite the troublemaker when you were younger, and you see the fact that Stinson Academy was silent while your buddy Cole was away makes me suspicious to the point that the second Cole returned havoc has been brewing."
I shrugged, I did not have a part with this morning incident. "People change."
"Are you saying that you've changed or Cole?"
"I haven't had an opportunity to get to know the new Cole." That isn't a total lie...
"Where you apart of the group who did this?"
"No."
"Do you know who was?"
"No."
He sighed, "Your best friend left this town without a word for three years, dropped you quicker than a hot potato, so rethink the question Riley, do you know who was a part of the group?"

When I returned back to my classes designated spot on the flats Ghost waved me over to her, "Asher sure is pissed off, I felt like I was going to die during my interview."
I nodded, suddenly wanting nothing to do with the subject, "When's your grandmother flying in?"
Ghost dropped the topic instantly, "She's flying into LAX tonight, I'm so excited! Jay's coming!"
"Jay?"
She squealed, "Oops, I forgot to tell you, Jay is the guy I'm seeing!"
"Oh yes, the doctor." I smiled.
"Riley, he is so amazing." Ghost sighed enamored, "He's so smart and funny and nice and sweet but hes so edgy sometimes ya know?"
I nodded, I knew, "You feel alive?"
"Yes! Every time I'm with him I can actually feel the blood in my veins,"
I was happy for Ghost I really was.
