Mystery Beyond Dragon's Crown Part 1

Chapter 1 (Introduction)

Let me introduce myself, my name is Laurine Coleman, and I am a Super Naturalist, Paranormal Investigator and I am always living my life "ONE STEP BEYOND".

I was sitting drinking tea like any other morning in my life; I was reading the newspaper and one article I noticed really stuck out. Two things that were so different about this article that it caught my eye immediately. The title of the article read: "Mystery Beyond Dragon's Crown." And the second was the pain in my right arm. I had not felt this pain in a very long time, I looked down at the tattoo which was still there after so many years and I got the impression that this was where the pain came from, my tattoo. I have had this small tattoo since I was very young and nobody knew why it appeared shortly after my birth. I was so intrigued by the title of this article that I began to read anxiously, anticipating some great revelation. As I continued reading, my anticipation grew with expectations of finding something that might reveal what this mystery was. I continued reading with great excitement looking for clues that might help identify the mystery or a direction I must take to solve this riddle....The pain in my arm was stronger now, could it be related?

Chapter 2 (Identifying the mystery)

I was so intrigued by this mysterious article; I clipped it from the newspaper and stuck it into my notebook. I knew today I would be going to the research library on another matter and I wanted to have this article with me. I didn't have time this morning to read the article carefully, so I wanted to spend some time at the library looking for clues or identifying information that might help me to decipher this riddle.

The library contained a wealth of information in old newspapers, periodicals and books as well as a massively up to date computer database. I figured with all this research material at hand, I should easily be able to turn up clues.

I went about my daily chores trying to complete them as quickly as possible. My anticipation of what I was expecting to find was ever growing as the day wore on.

The last stop for all of my daily routines and mundane chores put me within blocks of the library, so now my interest and curiosity got the better of me and I headed straight for the library doors and what awaited me there.

Upon entering the library a very uneasy feeling came over me. My notebook was tucked under my arm and it felt oddly warm and I thought to myself this has never happened before. I moved forward entering at a quick pace and found a table at the back of the library; privacy was what I needed at this point. I went to the coffee machine and ordered a strong black tall cup of coffee as I knew this was going to be a long night. Returning to my table I noticed my notebook had been opened. I looked around and then quickly sat down to check if my article was still there. I flipped through the pages of my notebook and noticed something strange. I had left the article at the very beginning and it was now moved to page two, how strange, I thought.

Could this be my first clue? I continued to look through my notebook for any additional possible clues. As I flipped to page H I noticed there was a circle drawn around the H. I stopped for a minute to think what this might mean. I quickly wrote down a few notes on this page. What came to my mind first was the name Henry one of my best friends, Henry was unique and he had an ability to look into the future and I underlined that last comment "ability to look into the future". I continued to rifle through the pages hoping there might be another clue and, I was not disappointed as the same mark appeared on the page labeled M. Again the first thing that came to my mind was of a person named Matt and he again was a close friend. He had the ability to read minds and sense any paranormal energy inflictions associated with the Quantum Equilibrium and the Time Continuum. I made some quick notes on the page and began to wonder what the significance of these two close friends would play in this mystery.

I shoved this thought back in my mind temporarily as I needed to follow through with my original intent of trying to identify the mystery. What was its meaning and why suddenly did this pain in my arm come back to me after so many years?

I went to the nearest computer and sat down, realizing that I had a ton of work before me. "I thought where to start first?" I punched into the computer old dates taken from this article along with some identifying landmarks. This produced several old newspaper articles, which I read vigorously. These articles contained information, which led to a book that was written in 1605. I quickly jotted down the information about the title and author to save for future reference. I noticed something else in one of the articles: my home address was listed with somebody else's name living in my very home. I found this information very strange as this house had belonged to our family for well over one hundred years dating back to the mid-1700s and this name was not mentioned to my knowledge. I wrote down the information about this person and the year this person was registered in my home. This information would require a trip to the county hall of records. I went back to my table and again I noticed that my notepad was open. It was open to Page N. I thought how odd that was until I looked at the page and written across the page was a message: "Now, Must See Immediately H and M, very urgent." I felt a chill run up my spine. It was as if somebody was looking over my shoulder.

At this point, I had a decision to make "Do I complete my research or do I see my friends as instructed?" This was a simple choice I decided since I was in the library already I went and found the book and brought it back to my desk. This book was really thick and would require a lot of time to read, so I decided to pack up and rent the book for one month. I then departed the library and headed for Starbucks coffee. I decided to send an urgent SMS to both of my friends "Please, come immediately to Starbucks, I will explain upon your arrival." I would have to go to County Hall of Records tomorrow as the office was already closed. I felt the burning in my arm growing stronger.

Henry arrived first and grabbed a cup of coffee came over to my table stood there for a second looking at me quizzically. He then sat down slowly looking into his coffee as if he could find an answer and then asked: "What's Up?" I greeted Henry and I told him that I would go into the details when Matt arrived, as I want both of you to see the evidence and hear what I have to say. Henry and I caught up on some old times while we were waiting for Matt's arrival.

Matt is a huge man and came barging through the door like a bull in a china shop. He quickly grabbed a cup of water and ran to the table. He swung around a chair and parked his large body directly in front of both of us and retorted "Where's the fire?"
