Byakuya's POV

I woke up in a sweat, my sheets soaked in it. I immediately changed to get out of the sweaty uniform. It didn't change anything as I continued to burn up. I felt my forehead and it was like I was on fire. I went to my restroom and my face was red and sweaty. Despite how sweaty and hot I was, I was also freezing. I wanted to curl up in my blankets. I checked my clock. 3:00 am. I groaned. The announcement wasn't going to go off for a while yet I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep. I decided to make my way to the infirmary to look for something to control my raging fever. As I left my room, it felt like my fever was getting worse, my vision was blurry, even worse than usual, it didn't help my glasses were still in my room. I felt the symptoms of a cold as well, sinus congestion, a sore throat and coughing and sneezing. Each step made me feel more nauseous. I was light-headed and for a moment I thought I was so out of it I was hearing things. Those things would be footsteps. I tried to ignore it, assuming it was just the sickness. That was until I heard a voice.
"Byakuya? What are you doing up this late at night?" I heard a familiar voice say. I stood in my place, attempting to control myself. I felt terrible but I wasn't about to let whoever that was know.
"I could ask you the same thing. What I'm doing does not concern you." I say in my normal, snobby tone. I could feel the disappointed look the boy gave me, despite facing away from him.
"Oh, right, sorry. Hey, are you alright? You sound sick..." This time I could tell that the voice belonged to none other than Makoto. I turned around, slightly forgetting the state I was in. It would make it that much harder to hide the fact I was ill.
"Really? You think I would get sick. You must really have a peanut for a brain. Now why don't you run along and go back to bed, I don't want to waste my time on someone like you." Makoto gave a hurt expression but it quickly changed to concern.
"You don't look fine. It's okay to ask for help sometimes. As someone with a younger sister, I've gotten pretty good at helping people when they're sick!" He smiles, I couldn't help but think it was cute, although I would never admit it.
"As I said, I'm not sick so I don't need y-your help," I say, my voice becoming raspy. "Now, if you would please go away that would make my mood elevate." I could feel myself becoming more light-headed the longer I stood and talked. Makoto seemed to have noticed because he walked up to me and grabbed my arms. He was saying something but I couldn't make it out. I could hardly see Makoto anymore, my surroundings becoming black. Next thing I knew, I could hear Makoto frantically trying to help me and a loud thump and all I saw was black.

I woke up in my bed, a cold towel on my forehead and I was wearing more comfortable clothing. I looked to my side and saw Makoto sitting at the foot of my bed, a worried look on his face. Makoto had noticed I was awake and a look of relief flooded his eyes. "Byakuya! I'm glad you're awake, you really scared me back there. It was really difficult to get you back here by myself..." I looked away, uncomfortable.
"Why are you in my room? I can take care of myself." The small boy glanced at me, unsure.
"Well, at least drink some water. I went to the infirmary and found something that will help with your fever. I'll leave you alone if you want me to..." He sounded almost hurt and upset as he spoke. He stood up and handed me the water and tablets. I reluctantly took the tablets and drank the water.
"I won't ask you to leave but don't go telling everyone that I let you take care of me. I just pity you." Makoto smiled brightly as if I complimented him. He must have really low standards. He sat back down next to me and grabbed my hand, moving his thumb in a circular motion on the back of my hand. I looked away and suppressed my blush, pretending I disliked it.
"You should get some rest now, you should feel better when you wake up, and if you don't I'll do whatever I can to help!" He spoke with determination. I rolled my eyes but complied, more honestly, my body forced me to comply, I was a lot more tired than I thought I would be. My eyes slowly closed, the calming motion of Makoto's thumb made it easy to fall asleep.

Makoto's POV

I sat on Byakuya Togami's bed as he fell asleep, I continued rubbing his hand, I was surprised he didn't yell at me for it. I could feel my face heat up slightly, he was surprisingly cute when he's asleep. It's almost peaceful. I could feel my eyes getting heavy. I looked at the clock. 4:00 am. "I'm so tired..." I say as I yawned. I didn't want to leave Byakuya in this state but I was exhausted. Without thinking, I lay down next to Byakuya, still holding his hand and fell asleep the second my head hit the pillow. I could feel him scoot closer in his sleep, he probably didn't even realize what he was doing and honestly, neither did I, but I'd be lying if I said I disliked it.
