(Your POV)

You hummed to the song that was playing on the radio as you drove. Mike gave you a weird look and shook his head as he watched the road in front of you. It was already eleven at night, meaning you'd have to go in for work. Yay.

Well, technically yes, yay, because you get to see Jeremy again! If he shows up. I hope he does, you thought, glancing at Mike again. He seemed to be the happiest he's been since Jeremy had died, and you didn't want to ruin it.

"So, uh, Mike." You started awkwardly as he turned to you.

"Hm?"

You took in a deep breath, looking in the rear view mirror at Bonnie. "Well, I just want you to know I can't guarantee that Jeremy will show up. He doesn't exactly know we are bringing you, so he might not be coming to see us. If he doesn't we'll leave Marionette to tell him we'll bring you again, okay?"

Mike frowned and nodded before smiling brightly again. "Alright. I'm sure he'll be there, though."

You smiled and continued driving.

~Timeskip brought to you by the pain in my side...to much popcorn...~

"Alrighty!" You said, opening the front door. Mike and Bonnie both followed obediently after you. "MARIONETTE!" You yelled, looking around for him.

"Please don't yell, child." He said from behind you.

You screamed and jumped, turning quickly and punching him in the face.

Since he was floating, he was pushed back quite a way as he groaned, holding his face.

"I'm sorry, Marionette!" You said, running over to him. "You scared me!"

"It's fine." He mumbled while shaking his head. "What do you want?"

You smiled up at him. "Well, Mike wanted to see Jeremy, so I was wondering if you knew where he was?"

Marionette nodded and pointed behind you. You turned around, and there was Jeremy, floating behind Bonnie and Mike. You smiled at him, waving. He winked at you before Mike turned around, grabbing his attention.

"J-Jere-my?" he stuttered, looking up at the glowing spirit. He didn't move, probably because I had explained that Jeremy could not be touched.

"Mike." Jeremy breathed, looking down at the male with a smile. "It's only been a couple of days, but I've missed you so."

You walked over and put a hand on Mike's shoulder. He wrapped one arm around you, pulling you closer and you replaced your hand with your head on his shoulder as he stared at your dead friend. You both just watched Jeremy as he stood before you, both of you grinning. Finally, Mike sniffed and rubbed his face.

"Why did you die? Why did you leave me?" Mike asked with pleading eyes.

You squeezed him a little for comfort and his grip on you tightened.

Jeremy sighed. "Mike, please don't think it was my choice. It really wasn't, I wasn't ready to die, but fate had been sealed, and I have no choice but to follow its guide."

Mike shook his head. "You said you'd never leave me, Jeremy."

"I haven't."

Mike stared at the ground for a while.

"I haven't left, Mike. I've been with you, you just haven't seen me." Jeremy said, coming closer. He reached out an arm helplessly, as it to pull Mike in for a hug, but he couldn't touch him. Jeremy sighed and his arm fell to his side.

"Mike?" You asked, looking over at him.

He looked up at you, his eyes red and watering. After a moment, he yanked you into him for a hug. He gripped your back tightly as he sobbed and you dug your face into the side of his neck, holding him tightly.

"It'll be alright." You whispered, rubbing his back in an attempt to calm him down as his sobs started to grow louder and more desperate. Jeremy looked away, rubbing his arm awkwardly. Mike shook his head at your comment, crying louder.

"Mike, calm down." You whispered, still rubbing his back. You winced as his nails dug into your spine, but didn't move from his grip as he started to fall on his knees. You held on tighter, trying to keep him on his feet. "Mike...".

He took a few shaky breaths, still not letting go of you. "(Y/N), can we go?" He asked, his voice cracking.

"Mike...Sure." You said, not even daring to look at the clock. He nodded and let go, walking to the door. "Jeremy, I didn't think that would happen..." You said, looking at the ground.

Jeremy sighed. "I know...I was hoping it wouldn't go like this. I'll...see you later." With that, he faded slowly then finally disappeared.

You stared at the spot he had been for a few minutes until Bonnie finally pulled you gently, hugging you. You felt his hand run through your hair and you turned your face on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

"We should go make sure Mike is ok..." You said, about to turn away but Bonnie held you tighter.

"Are you ok, (Y/N)?" He asked, looking at you with his crimson eyes.

You sighed. "I think so."

"Good. You know I love you, right?" He asked, still staring at you.

You smiled and stretched up to kiss him. "Of course. And I love you too."

He smiled and grabbed your hand. "Let's go."

You followed, grinning, out of the door and to your car where Mike sat, leaning over while holding his head in his hands. You sighed as you got in, closing the door behind you gently.

"Mike...what's wrong? Really, what happened?" You asked as Bonnie got in and put on his seatbelt as well. (Safety my bois)

He only shrugged, not speaking and making you sigh as you started the car.

"(Y/N)...I...I-I think I lost myself." Mike whispered, looking at you.

You looked at him from the rearview mirror. Tears streamed down his face as he looked up with a total broken expression. He looked utterly defeated as if he had given up.

"Mike," You said softly, trying to soothe him. "People...pass. It happens, and the only thing you can do is move on."

"But it's so hard to do that." He whispered, looking down again.

"(Y/N) LOOK OUT!" Bonnie screamed, pointing to the front of the car.

You had barely enough time to look out the front window when the car flipped over from impact and started rolling. Mike and Bonnie screamed as they were thrown about, but before you could say anything, you blacked out.
