We once were happy together,

Our lives intertwined like stitches in flesh.

Caring for me like any mother should.

But all fell apart in a blaze of destruction.

After all the pain she went through,

She chose the scorching desert, not the quiet plains.

Letting fire spill down her throat,

Numbing the pain she held inside.

Beatings ensued, and crimson littered the floor.

Left alone was a shell of a woman; guilt enveloping.

But the fire, it too numbed her mind; guilt was soon forgotten.

And blood of the one she bared once again covered her fist.

After all was done and her mind shut down,

Left in a puddle pain and sorrow was a shell.

Not of a woman,

But of a young girl.
