WOOYOUNG'S POV.

"will that be all today?" the cashier asked. wooyoung nodded and held out his credit card.

"hey! i told you i'd pay!" ahn swatted his arm down and held out her own card.

"this is all for me anyway!" wooyoung held back her arm and made sure to hand his card to the cashier. he chuckled and looked at the two of them.

"its okay ma'am, the more hoodies your boyfriend gets, the more free hoodies you get." the cashier laughed, handing wooyoung his card back.

"oh we're not- we're not dating!" ahn blurted. wooyoung flinched a little next to her, but couldn't say anything since she was right. the cashier glanced between them.

"i see..well, see you next time." he smiled, but his eyes lingered sympathetically on wooyoung as he handed them the paper bag with their clothes. they quietly left the store, and walked to the car. wooyoung lost himself in his thoughts as he unlocked the car and put the bag in the backseat before climbing into the driver's seat. technically they weren't dating, so he didn't have a right to be upset. but the way ahn had insisted on clearing the misunderstanding. did she really not see him like that at all? to the point where she shut down any thought of more than friends? but do just friends hang out every day? do just friends-

"wooyoung?" he blinked out of his thoughts and looked up at ahn. "aren't you going to.. you know, start the car?" she laughed awkwardly. wooyoung blinked a couple more times before starting the engine.

"oh yeah. yeah sorry."

"are you okay? do you want me to drive?"

"no its just a headache, sorry. you mind if we call it a day?" he glanced at her, as he pulled out of the parking lot. she stared at him in worry.

"yeah of course, that's fine." the rest of the drive was spent silently listening to the radio. as the turned on to ahn's street, she lowered the radio volume. "are you sure you're okay?"

"yeah of course." wooyoung smiled reassuringly. she frowned at him as the pulled up to her house.

"you know its not fair. you always know exactly what to do when i'm upset, but i can't even tell what makes you upset in the first place." she said softly. he didn't know what to say so he just kept smiling gently, not knowing it was hurting her. she sighed and opened the car door, before turning back once to take his hand. "call me later." she left the car, not knowing she was hurting him.
