*Sans's POV*
I jolted awake after yet another nightmare, I had barely slept at all ever since Atari had snapped. Her crazed eyes and snappy temper hurt me more than her words for the moment, taking a deep breath I began to walk towards her cell after grabbing her daily meal along the way. Upon arriving at her cell I heard a loud banging, quickly rushing to look in I noticed she was laughing sadistically while smashing her skull against the wall. The moment she heard me gasp her eyes focused on me and I noticed the large cracks on both the wall and her skull, her chuckling became mad laughter.
"HeLlO SaNsY," she chuckled her voice seeming almost broken, using my magic I pinned her against the wall causing her laughing to grow louder.
"GASTER!!" I roared, in moments everyone was there and noticing her smashed skull Gaster rushed in.
"How did this happen!?" Gaster growled as he began to try to pin her head back against the wall only for her to latch onto his hand causing him to shout in pain, reefing his hand backwards she licked her teeth as his blood stained them.
"I-I don't know, I was bringing her food to her and saw her hitting her head against the wall!" I explained in a panicked voice gesturing to the wall that had a massive dent in it, Gaster nodded and slammed her head against the wall knocking her out but not before she gave a final chuckle.
"We need to heal her, and fast," Gaster mumbled holding her blackening soul in his hands, seeing it made my words get caught in my mouth.
"S-Sans, we n-need to move her," Alphys explained, I realised I was still holding her against the wall with my magic and I slowly lowered her into Gaster's arms. I felt my soul crack seeing her like that, shaking my head I held back my tears. I followed Gaster as we began to head to a strange part of the lab, unlike Atari I didn't remember anything from before the core incident. Upon entering the room Gaster laid Atari down on a bed and restrained her in case she woke up, it hurt me to see her so fragile and lost. Without thinking I walked over and began to absently heal her with my magic, I noticed the black glow from her soul had begun to change shades but only slightly. With a jolt she awoke screeching with anger and wait a second, was that pain in her scream?
"Atari calm down you are safe," I pleaded, I watched her eyes lock onto me and noticed by simply looking in her eyes she had felt some sort of emotion but it had passed too quickly to bed sure.
"Oh SaNsY I'vE mIsSeD yOu," she purred in her creepy and sadistic way, I winced at the fact the emotion that had crossed her face had vanished within the blink of an eye.
"Atari..." I began but was cut off as Gaster started up a machine I hadn't noticed before, looking back at Atari I saw only fear on her face now which meant my magic had done something to her soul. As the machine buzzed to life she began to thrash and scream out in fear, Gaster looked surprised but didn't stop the machine.
"GASTER TURN THE THING OFF!!" I shouted at him with anger and sadness mixed within my voice, Gaster shook his head.
"No, I created this machine to try and help her emotions come back, it is harmless aside from bringing forth memories to try and fix her broken state," Gaster explained, Atari looked at me with a look that broke my soul. Her eyes were wide with fear and I had to look away as the machine fired causing her to scream, after a few minutes the machine shut down and I looked at Atari who had passed out completely.
"Gaster is she alright?" I asked my voice a mere whisper, he nodded and picked up up after undoing her restraints.
"That should hopefully stop her from having another episode, it won't fix her completely but it will bring back her emotions, be warned she might have a few side effects," Gaster explained, I shook me head to clear it.
"What kind of side effects?" I half growled, hearing this in my voice he carefully place Atari in her cell and after closing the door faced me.
"Side effects such as her not being able to remember certain things," Gaster added, I felt my soul lurch but I had to be sure.
"What things won't she remember?" I almost choked, Gaster's eyes told me everything.
"She won't be able to remember us, she will only be able to remember events but not who was there during said events," Gaster sighed, wincing I looked at her sleeping peacefully. Opening the cell door I sat down beside her as she slept, I felt tears roll down my cheeks as I pulled her into a hug. I began to rock us both back and forth in a slow calming motion, eventually I began to fall asleep.

*Atari's POV*
I awoke abruptly to find myself in a cell like before, the last thing I had remembered were voices and a machine. Shaking my head slightly I realised I was curled into something warm, looking up I blushed to see a short but somewhat taller than me skeleton. He was fast asleep from what I could tell and I was wrapped carefully in his arms, my head hurt like hell but when I touched it I seemed fine. Shrugging mentally I began to wriggle out of the skeletons grip, I could remember everything but I couldn't remember faces or names. After getting out of his grip I began to pace around the cell I was in, looking backwards I saw my broken wing which confirmed a few things. The soft snoring from before stopped and I felt eyes watching me, the skeleton who had been cuddling me had awoken and was looking at me with sympathy. I could see his soul even though I knew he had it hidden, shrugging it off I tilted my head confused by his watchful eyes.
"A-Atari?" He whispered almost too softly for me to hear, I was even more confused on how he knew my name.
"Who are you?" I questioned cautiously, obviously I had known him before since he knew my name but I couldn't place my finger on it.
"Atari.... it's me...... Sans,"
