I'm struggling too.

I think i need help

Ruby lied in the hospital bed recovering Iain was right a jarred back and some cuts and bruises along with mild concussion. They just wanted to monitor her overnight. "Iain" she said he nodded "mm" he smiled "you can go home" she said "I don't want to go home I want to stay with you" he said she nodded "ruby can I ask you something?" He asked she nodded sitting up "fire away" she smiled "why haven't you got an emergency contact?" He asked she sighed and looked down at her hands on her lap on the bed. She got up slowly and sat down in the other chair facing him "as you obviously know I don't have a mum anymore, my dad and I don't talk, my dads the reason my mum died he's in prison and hopefully he will be for life. I have a older sister  but I haven't spoken to her since I left for uni she was a daddy's girl and me and her didn't see eye to eye because of that he was nasty and she always sided with him" she almost cried "grandparents?" He asked "I don't have any" she said he reached for her hand "now do you see why I don't have an emergency contact" she said he nodded "write me down" he said she looked up at him a bit taken aback "what?" She asked "I will always be here for you, didn't today prove it? Write me down I'll always answer" he said "Iain I work with you it's for work if there's an accident 9/10 your going to be involved too" she smiled he nodded "just so you've got someone if I'm not there" he smiled she smiled and drifted off to sleep. The next morning Alicia walked in the ruby asleep and Iain asleep with his head on the bed. "Wakey wakey" she smiled they both woke up and Iain sat up straight "home time Rubes" she smiled ruby smiled and so did Iain. "Are you going to come home with me?" He asked "no, but you can come home with me" she smiled he smiled and held her hand "come on then" he smiled she got up slowly and went to get changed and walked out with Iain "thank you for coming to help me" she said he smiled "anytime" he smiled. They went back to Ruby's and Iain lied her on the sofa and wrapped her in a blanket "get some sleep you" he smiled she nodded and closed her eyes. 3 hours later Iain had drifted off in the chair next to her and she suddenly woke up "Iain!" She cried crying and sweating "Ruby" he said waking up he walked over to her and held her hands "what's wrong?" He asked "I keep, I keep..." She stuttered over her words "did you have a nightmare?" He asked she nodded "it's not just when I'm asleep" she cried "what's wrong talk to me" he said comforting her "I keep getting flashbacks of you laying on your sofa" she cried he pulled her close and kissed her head "Iain I think I need help" she cried "it's okay, we can get you help" he said holding her close "you've done the hardest part and asked for it now" he said pushing her hair out of her face. "Thank you" he said she looked up at him wiping her eyes "for what?" She smiled "for not making the same mistake I did" he smiled stroking her face she smiled and lent into his chest and just wrapped her arms around him "that's why I need help because I don't want to make the same mistake" she cried he rubbed her back and leaned back on the sofa cuddling her "get some sleep I'm right here" he said she nodded and he kissed her head pulling the blanket over her.
