The Specialist of Omegalas : vol 1

Yoan :Chapter 4

Yoan's eyes shot open and he was meet with  bobbing scenery and the back of Dakotas head. Yoan realized he was being carried and at noticing him wake up, Dakota put him down and they all surrounded him.
"Yoan, man. What the fuck was that last night."  Dakota asked as he and Julie looked at Yoan with excited eyes, eager for an explanation. Ren listened in from a short distance. "That thing with your hair. Do it again will ya?" Julie asked eagerly. "Yea it was like you were a specialist." Yoan was confused at first but soon he began to remember the events of the night before. "That voice. It must've been the previous specialist.." Yoan spoke under his breath. He looked at the other and decided to tell them the truth. It was pointless to hide now. Yoan explained to them about how he first found a card and the events that unfolded afterwards. He told them how he was betrayed by Chleo and the mission the king assigned him. The others listened in surprise as Yoan finally told them how the card seemed to speak to him during the fight.
"And then, I reached out for the card. You guys saw the rest. Yoan finished his explanation and tried to gaze his friends reaction. "Well it's a good thing for us you found that card when you did." Ren said rejoining the group. "We would've been done for."
"Yea." Julie agreed.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you guys the truth at first. I should've trusted you guys."
"You're fine Yoan. We understand." Julie  smiles as she put her hand on his shoulder. Dakota put his arm around  Yoan,"we're a team. You can always trust us."
Dakota looked at Ren. "Right Ren? Get over here." He motioned for Ren to come closer as Julie joined in on Yoan's other side.
"Yea Ren come on."
Ren smiled as he reluctantly joined the group hug. After that they continued their journey to the capital. "Your powers were awesome." Julie suddenly got excited. "Does that mean I might get a card too. Oh that'd be awesome. If I remember the best card would be the King of Hearts. Yea, the ability to mimic electricity. That sounds great." Julie, Dakota, and Yoan talked about what powers they thought were best amongst the specialist while Ren walked in silence.
They continued their journey, traveling  amongst the back roads on foot as their horses ran off the night before. Traveling on the back roads, they were meet by many deamons and this gave Yoan a chance to try out his new powers.  His power gave him the ability to manipulate his hair, which he could also manipulate to be hard as steel. His power was nowhere near as strong as it was when he first used it. He figured this was due to the life threatening situation he was in at the time. He could grow his hair out to reach his shoulders but that was the extent to all he could do for now with the hair on his head so he adapted a new method of fighting with  his powers by manipulating his body hair. After fighting a couple of deamons Yoan somewhat perfected his method. He would run his arm hair up his sword and when attacking send them out to wrap around the target some distance away from him. He would follow through with the attack by tightening the hairs to cut into his target depending on the strength he uses. His range with this method was about 6ft from the tip of  his sword. The color of his hair made it difficult for enemies to notice it so he decided to called this technique 'Phantom Blade'. He  could also carries things up to 300 lbs, the hair almost invisible, makes it seem like he is using telepathy. Ren, Julie, and Dakota used the deamons to get stronger as well and after another two days they reached the capital. The capital was surrounded by a great wall and they approached the front gate in order to enter.
A man equipped with a sword on his hip, his clothes not in the best condition, was standing by the entrance.
"Halt. Who are you and what business do you have in the capital."
"I am Yoan and these are my companions Ren, Julie, and Dakota. We have an urgent message from the heart king to the clover king."
The man looked them up and down before calling out to another man nearby inside the capital.
"Call for Captain Gore to escort the visitors." Yoan and the others looked at each other upon hearing that name. Suddenly a voice spoke from behind them as a girl equipped with a bow and arrow appeared.
"There's no need to bother Captain Gore. He only recently got back and I believe he's still sleeping his hangover off. I'll escort them."
The man at the gate quickly improved his posture and stood at attention.
"Yes ma'am Captain Lily."
The girl moved ahead of them and introduced herself. "I'm Amber Lily, but you can call me Captain Lily. If you would follow me, I'll show you to the king." She walked ahead and the others followed. Amber hummed to herself as Yoan and the others looked around at the state of the capital. It was much nicer in the capital than any of the villages they pasted on their way here. They also noticed a lot of men getting trained, some sparring,some running, some doing physical training. They noticed many claw marks on buildings and on the ground. As they approached the castle they also noticed a big colosseum some distance from the castle. They could currently hear  two men fighting furiously inside as a crowd looked on. Amber stopped when she noticed them looking. "That's where any disputes that can't be settled peacefully gets settled. It's actually something new the king thought of." She turned and looked at Ren.  "Maybe you guys will get to see it up close before you leave." She smiles and continues to lead them. They looked at one another in confusion before following her lead. Once they reached the castle Amber left,instructing them to go in through the double doors at the end of the corridor. They entered the throne room and to their surprise a young man, looking no older than twenty-five sat on the throne, one leg resting on the arm of the throne. He sat with a bored expression on his face as he smoked. There were two armed men behind him but other than that the room was empty of people. His expression changed once they walked in.
"Why hello there." He hopped out of his seat. "Who might you all be and how could I help you today." Yoan stepped forward," my name is Yoan, these are my companions Ren , Julie , and Dakota. We come with a message from the heart king." The man walked over to Yoan. My name is Ace, I am the king's advisor. He smiled and shook Yoan's hand then went to shake the others hand. "Now what is this message you have for the king Yoan."
"Would it be possible to speak with the king directly. This is an urgent matter."
Ace clapped his hands together. "I can understand you wanting to speak with the king but he is busy at the moment and does not want any disturbances. I can ensure you that the message will be passed along".   He smiled.
Hesitate, Yoan finally gave his message, simply telling Ace that the king has discovered the  specialist cards have returned and would like some assistance finding them.
"Hmmm. Well, That is interesting. Thank you for this information Yoan. I will have this message sent to the king. In the meantime, why don't you all stay here for the day. Enjoy the festivities that Kibō has to offer." Ace clapped his hands and the guards moved from their post to escort Yoan and his friends. "I will meet with you again la-" Ace was cut off as suddenly the doors swung open.
"ARGHHHHH, WHERE IS HE!!!" Captain Gore came in full of rage and stopped when he saw Ren. "YOU. WHY YOU LITTLE PUNK I'M GONN-" Ace cleared his throat and the captain stoped as Ace shot him a menacing look. He got on one knee and bowed his head. Ace spoke calmly but gave off a deadly aura. "Captain Gore. It's seems you have already met our guest. It saddens me to see you treating them so poorly. If you have some type of situation that needs solving you know how to go about solving it. Correct?"   The captain was flustered  as he answered.
"Of course sir. For-forgive me for my rash behavior." 
Ace sighed. "I apologize for Captain Gore's poor behavior. It seems he got into a dispute with one of you? I'm not sure if you know but there's a law here that if you have any problems that can't be solved between two people, settle it in the colosseum. Captain Gore. I believe you had an issue with this one?"
He pointed at Ren. The Captain shook his head in approval.
"Hmm. Ren, was it. I apologize but you and the captain are going to have to fight unless an agreeable solution can be found."
"That shouldn't be necessary. I can pay  the Captain for the incident that happened. This should be enough."
Ren produced a small bag of silver coins.
The Captain refused. "The only payment I will accept is your blood."
Ren looked at his companions. He thought he could diffuse the situation but seeing how things were going, he knew what he had to do. Ren smiled at the captain. "I guess I'll see you in the colosseum ."
Captain Gore stood to his feet in anger. "Oh I'm gonna teach you a lesson punk. You'll regret ever coming here." He stormed out the room and Ace motioned for one of the guards to follow him.
"Well it seems like a match has been arranged. I would like to inform you that the match is until someone surrenders but the contestants truly set the standards. This may end up being a death match knowing the captain. Are you ok with that Ren?" Ace looked at Ren with curious eyes. 
"Every fight is a fight to the death isn't it?"
Ace was silent for a moment before he burst into laughter.
"Oh my you really are a lively one. You're right. Well then I'll have you escorted to the colosseum ."  He rose his voice as if talking to someone outside the room, "since you're here Captain Lily why don't you show them to the colosseum ."  The captain slowly peaked her head through the door smiling , "yes sir."  Captain Lily walked them towards the coliseum and they spoke amongst themselves as they walked. "Ren are you sure you wanna do this. Can't we try to talk him out of fighting?" Dakota whispered as he looked around worryingly, "something seems off about this place."
Yoan agreed with Dakota, "he's right. The way Ace was sitting on the throne and bossing everyone around didn't sit right with me. He isn't telling us something. You saw how he made that muscle head captain act right."
Julie joined in on the whispering, "And I think that Lily bitch set us up."
Ren nodded in agreement," yes yes you're all correct. But I honestly don't see any other way around it. That captain is obviously out for blood so I may as well give him some. His blood that is. I'll do this fight then we'll be on our way. Easy."
Julie rubbed her stomach, "I'm getting a bad feeling about being here."
Dakota rubbed Rens shoulders. "See even Jules thinks this is bad. Let's just get out of here."
They had no more time to discuss as they approached the  colosseum and was shocked by how the atmosphere had shifted from before. It was filling up with spectators and the noise was tremendous. It only got louder as Ren was escorted inside. Yoan ,Julie ,and Dakota went to a special seating area with Captain Lily. They were soon joined by Ace. After a moment Captain Gore entered the arena on the opposing side. He wore no shirt and had no weapon equipped. The crowd roared and chanted 'Captain Gore. Captain Gore.' The captain whistled and an axe was thrown by his feet. He motioned for the crowd for silence and they obeyed. "THIS BOY HERE DISRESPECTED ME. THE GREAT CAPTAIN GORE. NOW ITS TIME FOR HIM TO PAY FOR IT!!"
The captain grabbed the axe and swung it between his fingers as the crowd roared. Ren drew his long sword and pointed it at the captain. They stared each other down before charging at each other, beginning the battle.
