Chapter 1
Sunny days are always Sophia's favourite days. It's the perfect chance for her to get her already-tanned-skin more tanned. What can she do? Summer vacation is coming to an end and she needs to look perfect for the sake of her senior year.
'Perfect' is an understatement for Sophia. She was more than that in the eyes of other people. Don't blame them, Sophia's the daughter of Aaron Hastings, the one and only owner of 'Hastings & co.' one of the most famous perfume company in the world.
If you looked up the word 'perfect' in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of Sophia Hastings grinning, flashing her straight white teeth at you. That's what most people think of her. Although Sophia knows that nobody's perfect and that she's deep inside, quite the opposite of being coldhearted, selfish..etc. She can't deny what's said about her. She can't help it, she likes the attention.
Grabbing her sunglasses, headphones and iPod, she stepped out of the house onto the soft sand. Having a private beach was one of the perks of being rich. Stripping into her bathing suit, she lied down on the lounge chair and just realxed.
But that didn't last long as the ridiculously annoying voice of her mother approached her. Ugh, why can't she leave Sophia alone? All she ever wants is one peaceful day, is this too much?
"Sophia Anne Hastings!" Her mother screeched. "Do you know what you've done?!"
"Will you get to the point? You're interrupting my tanning session." Sophia said coldly.
"Daniel called, young lady!"
Sophia rolled her eyes and then lowered her sunglasses, "What does he want?"
"He broke up with you! Daniel Adams broke up with you!" She screamed.
"It's about time." Sophia replied, happily.
Daniel is Sophia's boyfriend, well her ex now. He's the perfect boyfriend material. He got the looks, the brains and most of all, he's in the top list of Los Angeles young bachelors. Who wouldn't like him? Actually, Sophia didn't. She thinks he's arrogant and selfish and besides that, he's not her type. They were set up by their parents just for business reasons. And right now, Sophia is so happy he lessened the effort of breaking up with him.
"About time? Are you crazy?!" Nicole Hastings screamed. "He's our only chance for more fame, but then a little ungrateful brat let it slip away!"
'Really? How more famous can we get?' Sophia thought sarcastically to herself. "Don't worry mom, I'll find another one soon."
"As you like Sophia, Daniel was the only boy out there who'd love you and treat you right, what a shame you lost him." She shook her head at her daughter. "And always remember what we agreed on 4 years ago."
"Will you please remind me, dear mother." Sophia said in a sarcastic tone.
"You're not allowed under any circumstances to like or even get near a non-rich boy. They're not like us, understand?"
"Of course mother" Sophia snorted. "Me and a poor boy? Never in a million years."
