Chapter 5

"Breath."

"I am breathing."

"Good. Now let's go."

Teresa grabbed her best friend's hand and headed to their school's gate. Today was the first day and like anyone else, Sophia was very nervous.

"Look Soph, when you see him, just scream bloody murder and run for your life okay?" Teresa said seriously.

"Yeah, sure." Sophia sighed.

"I'm not joking. That asshole shouldn't be anywhere near you, okay? "

"Quit the whole okay thing, okay?" Sophia said tiredly.

"Okay." Teresa laughed. "By the way! You look hot."

Sophia looked down at her green high waisted short and pink floral top wierdly. "Thanks, Tess."

Since today was the first day Sophia had to face her ex-boyfriend, Teresa made sure her best friend would look so hot that Daniel would regret breaking up with her. He shouldn't have broken up with her first! Sophia was supposed to do that!

"How about we cancel this plan and just enjoy the day?"

"No!" Teresa said angrily. "We have to show that arrogant bastard who's the boss."

"But honestly Tess, we'll just show him who's the dashing one when I show up with these clothes." Sophia sighed and stopped her friend from pulling her.

Teresa sighed. "You look good, Soph. I was just trying to help."

"It's okay. Let's go enjoy our first day without any Daniel thoughts, alright?" Sophia asked, smiling.

"I'll try." Teresa smiled back and they both walked to the building.

"Oh my god there he is!" Teresa whispered. She was more like shouting actually.

Daniel was standing with his group of friends infront of his locker. He had his arms around Jessica Adams, one of the most popular and rich girls in school.

Looks like he found another rich replacement to please his parents. Sophia thought sarcastically.

"Sophia! He's with Jessica now!" Teresa gasped.

"Yeah, I can see." Sophia stared at them then said "Let's go Tess. What's the point of watching my ex-boyfriend with a random bimbo?" She grabbed her best friend's hand and walked away.

So yeah, Sophia was a little bit jealous. Although she hated Daniel with a passion, she still liked him. Don't blame her, he was her boyfriend after all.

"We have to get your mind off of him for a little while." Teresa said thoughtfully. "How about getting into a relationship just like he did?"

"No time for games, Tess. I don't want drama this year and certainly not with Daniel imvolved."

"But Sophia, we should-" The bell rang cutting off Teresa's words. Sophia took the opportunity and headed to her first class without saying goodbye. A bitchy move she knows. But Teresa's her best friend and she'll forgive her.

Sophia was as usual late for her Maths session. She knocked on the door then opened it slowly.

"Miss Hastings, you're late." Mrs. Jones said, narrowing her eyes. "As usual."

"I'm sorry Mrs. Jones, it won't happen again." Sophia said coldly. Is her Maths teacher crazy? How is she speaking to her like that? Did she forget who she is?
