"How do I look?" She asked as she toyed with her hair using her phone camera as a mirror, this wasn't her ideal of a look for a date but she had work and she couldn't wear what she wanted. The last thing she needed to do was violate dress codes.

"You look fine, Mani. Why do you keep checking?" Ryan asked as she fixed the clothes on the rack. She watched Normani sigh and lock her phone before sliding it into the back pocket of her tight jeans.

"I have a lunch date." Normani informed her as she took the sweatshirt she wore off, revealing the white spaghetti strap crop top that was underneath.

"You know, you look hot but that look would be much hotter if you hadn't took your belly piercing out."

Normani rolled her eyes and gave Ryan a look which caused her to shrug.

"So you have a date, girl from the club?"

"Yup, Megan."

"She's fine and seem nice but be careful, kay? Professor sexy is already on my shit list, I'd hate to add the hottie."

Normani giggled but nodded nonetheless. She bid Ryan a goodbye before she exited the boutique.

Normani found herself being overdramatic per usual but then again she had every right to be. She hadn't been on a date in God knows how long and her half assed situationship with Beyoncé didn't count. Then she had to think was this really a date? Megan dubbed it as a friendly lunch but Normani was certain it's because she didn't want to come on too strong. Normani knew enough to know this was technically a date, Megan was interested in her and wanted to get to know her.

She was open to that but nervous nonetheless.

And that was something she couldn't afford to be, not as she walked in her two inch heels to where Megan sat. Her sunglasses placed at the top of her head as she looked over a menu, Normani took a deep breath and slowed down her steps. She was not trying to catch Megan's attention by falling, nervousness and heels don't mix.

"I was starting to think you wouldn't show." Was the first thing Megan said once she noticed Normani, she watched Normani throw her a reserved smile as she took the seat across from her.

"You really took me as the girl to stand one up?" Normani asked, Megan let out a small chuckle and shrugged prior to handing her the other menu.

"No but you never really know, gotta hope for the best but prepare for the worst." She joked, attempting to lighten the mood. She could tell dating wasn't Normani's forte which was completely okay, she'd just try to be easy and not make her too uncomfortable.

"You're absolutely right."

Megan nodded as the waiter approached them, she closed her menu because she already knew what she'd be ordering.

"Can I start you off with drinks?"

"I'd like a lemon water."

"Same as her." Megan said right after, the waiter nodded and told them he'd have their drinks shortly.

"So Normani, that's an unique name." Megan started once the man walked away, this caused Normani to snort and nod her head.

"My uncle's name was Norman so.."

"Gotcha. I like it."

"Anything's better than what my dad wanted to name me." She sighed, Megan raised a brow, clearly curious as to what Normani's dad wanted to name her. "My father's name is Derrick so he wanted to name me Derricka."

"Aw hell nah." Megan laughed, her accent becoming  more audible and Normani swooned internally as she laughed along with her. "If you told me that was your name at the club, I probably wouldn't have called."
