XXIII

Normani let out a loud yawn as she reached for her pink toothbrush, turning on the water soon after. She gazed into the mirror and could see just how tired she truly was. With a sigh, she pushed her toothbrush under the water that fell out of the faucet.

"Pssst." Normani heard causing her to jump a little before turning around, she was met with the little person who gave her a goofy grin. "Sorry if I scared you."

"Just a little," Normani admitted while she turned back around to apply toothpaste onto her toothbrush. "What's up princess?"

"I need a favor." Blue blurted out causing Normani to laugh, she respected her straightforward-ness. She then nodded to let Blue know she was all ears while she brushed her teeth.  "I need you to tell mommy my iPad is cracked because she won't be as mad if she thinks you did it."

Normani scrunched her face up but couldn't help but laugh, Blue was indeed a character. "One, how did you break your iPad and two, it's no way your mom would believe I did that."

"Well.," She started with a sigh which made Normani chuckle as she rinsed her toothbrush off, sitting it back in the toothbrush holder. "I took the case off because it's kind of ugly then I took it with me to get a snack. I sat it on the counter and I had my headphones in because I was watching Spongebob! It dropped because I went too far." Blue sighed once more for dramatics, her way of trying to make Normani feel bad for her. "If you say you did it, mommy won't get mad at you."

"I don't know about that, princess." Normani replied with a giggle, amusement written all over her face with her arms folded over her breast while she leaned against the sink. "Mommy's not too pleased with me right now."

"How come?" Blue asked per usual, she was always asking questions like most children her age did.

"It's... grown up business but how about I take you to go get your iPad fixed? We can also invest in a cuter case so things like this won't happen again. I won't tell your mommy."

Blue's face lit up as she felt complete relief, she could get used to Normani saving her butt. She quickly frowned after that thought, Normani had mentioned that her mom was upset with her, if they broke up then Blue wouldn't have this.

"You have to make mommy stop being mad at you."

"Trust me, I've been trying."

"Try harder please."

Normani smiled a little before holding out her pinky for Blue to take, their pinkies linked and Blue's smile grew wide. "I promise I will."

After Blue hurried off to get ready for their journey to the Apple store, Normani frowned. Her mind immediately went to the last real conversation she and Beyoncé had.

Beyoncé looked up at her girlfriend, suddenly completely attentive and a tad bit ticked off. It was no secret that she was never too fond of Blair and Normani's friendship, something about it just never sat right with her spirit.

"Oh?"

Normani responded by cupping Beyoncé's cheeks and caressing them gently, their orbs locked in. "Now before you become all irate, listen to the story."

Beyoncé couldn't argue, Normani had put her in a trance and she was sure she was being hypnotized. All she could do was nod and did exactly what was asked of her. She listened.

"Just ask him." 

"What-"

"Well no," Beyoncé said after a second of thought. There was always the possibility that Zendaya was covering for herself and if Normani confronted Blair without confirmation then it'd be downright messy. "Your best bet is to call your mom and ask who told her."
