"I hope this conversation is as urgent as your message seemed."

Normani scrunched her face up, clearly not amused by the teasing. She was upset with him which worried her a little. He had been her best friend practically all her life and they had never really had any static so this was somewhat foreign to her. Normani had no clue how this conversation would go but she hoped he had a solid reason as to why he sold her out to her mom.

"It is, at least to me it is." Normani responded as Blair opened the door for her to enter his apartment. She instantly rolled her eyes when she noticed the empty pizza box on the coffee table along with the opened Doritos bag on the couch. That explained the corn chip smell. "You're such a pig."

Blair let out a chuckle while he closed the door behind Normani. She expressed how much of a slob he was told time after time but he never really cared.

"I'm a bachelor, I don't have time to worry about cleaning."

"That's how I know you're not getting any." Normani muttered as she walked towards the couch that was unoccupied by Blair's food or garbage.

"Yeah yeah yeah, wassup though? You ok? It really did sound urgent." Blair expressed whilst plopping down onto the other couch. Normani watched as he closed the Dorito bag and sat it onto the table.

Normani opened her mouth then closed it, she wasn't sure how she'd address it. She could beat around the bush but then Bey's motto popped into her head, "JuSt RiP iT oFf LiKe A bAnDaId." That seemed so much better, to just jump right in and not waste time.

She let out a breath before looking up and meeting Blair's stare. "Why'd you tell her?"

Blair laced his eyebrows together, showing off his uncertainty about what Normani was referring to which made her huff. Normani wasn't sure if he was truly lost or just feigning confusion.

"You told my mom about Bey, my question is why?"

"Who said-"

"Blair don't lie." Normani cut him off with a roll of eyes. "Here's the facts - Aside from Bey's people who doesn't know my mom from a can of paint; you, Z and Ryan know about us. Ryan doesn't know my mom well enough to call her, my mom hadn't spoken to Z in forever, her words so that leaves you. The point is, I know it was you but why would you do that? You know how my mom is and you're supposed to be my best friend."

"I wasn't trying to throw you under the bus, Mani. I was just trying to get her to talk some sense into you."

It was Normani's turn to bring her eyebrows to union with an unintentional neck roll while squinting at Blair. "Talk some- what? What are you getting at?"

Blair shrugged, struggling to find the right words as he sighed. "I just, I don't know. I feel like she's too old for you, I don't think you two should be together."

Blair's answer made Normani blink a few times to make sure this conversation was actually taking place. "Excuse me, who the fuck are you to have an opinion on MY relationship?"

Blair sucked his teeth, upset at the reaction of his best friend. "Yo why are you getting defensive? Like you need to relax."

"Relax? How relaxed am I supposed to be when I find out my happiness is an issue for my best friend?"

"Happiness? I'm saving you from heartache and making yourself look stupid, you know she was using you and still is. You think she really interested in you? She doesn't even know you for real."

"So suddenly you know my relationship with Bey? You don't know what transpires between us, she knows me better than a lot of people, including you!"
