XVIII

"Why you don't wanna kiss me huh?" Megan teased, her hand on Normani's bare knee. Normani playfully rolled her eyes as she leaned her back against Megan's chest. She took comfort on Megan's lap and didn't see herself moving anytime soon but she was nervous about kissing in public, she felt like everyone was staring.

"It's not that I don't want to-"

"The baby is shy?"

"Shut up." Normani whined, rolling her eyes and pretending she was about to get up. Megan instantly wrapped her arm around Normani's torso and pulled her back in.

"Where you going, baby?" Megan queried, Normani tried to hold back her smile but couldn't, she cracked immediately and Megan chuckled. "Give me a kiss"

Normani turned her head and gave in, kissing Megan's lips a little longer than the first time.

Beyoncé clenched her jaw as she watched from afar, how bold of Normani was her first thought. She then had to remind herself that Normani didn't know Megan and Beyoncé knew each other, let alone were friends.

"Don't do anything I wouldn't do." Beyoncé heard as she snatched a glass of wine off of the tray that a passing waiter held. Beyoncé chuckled sinisterly before downing the whole class with quickness.

"I'm gonna do exactly what you wouldn't do." Beyoncé shrugged before holding out the empty glass for Kelly to take. "Take it, Kelendria."

Kelly rolled her eyes at Beyoncé calling her by her government and took the glass. "Don't embarrass yourself, Giselle."

"I won't be the one embarrassed." Beyoncé promised before walking off.

She could see Normani and Megan chuckling which practically made her scoff. They thought they'd have a good time tonight? Yeah okay.

"Hi, Megan."

Normani's laughter stopped and her smile faltered, stopping in her tracks immediately. She was almost positive that was Beyoncé Knowles, it couldn't be.

"And Hello to you also, Normani."

Normani gulped and looked up. There stood Beyoncé with a forced smile on her face but Normani could see right through that. She could see the anger in her eyes.

"You two know each other?" Megan asked, oblivious to the tension between her date and friend.

"We do, very well actually."

Megan looked at Normani in confusion causing her to chuckle nervously and get off of Megan's lap. She stood beside the chair Megan sat in and gave Beyoncé a warning look.

"She's my professor." Normani informed Megan causing Beyoncé to roll her eyes discreetly as Megan smiled and stood up. Although that was true, it was only part of it.

"I forgot you teach."

Beyoncé hummed, she gave Normani the chance to come clean but she didn't so now she'd make her wish she did.

"Yeah, I taught Normani a lot of things, hopefully you'll appreciate that." Beyoncé smiled coyly and Normani internally groaned, she hoped Megan wouldn't pick up on the innuendo.
