Sophie's POV

***after school***

"Kat is going to get you for that stunt that you pulled at lunch today," my younger brother Seamus sneered at me. We were standing in front of my locker and he had just come up behind me. 

My family did not love me, they did not even like me, and everyone in the entire school knew it. Not only did they know it but they all threw it in my face every chance they got. As you may have guessed from what I just said...er... thought, I don't have any friends. Which has made me so much of an anti-social person that nobody even feels comfortable approaching me with friendship on their mind. How would I know what is on their minds? Well that is my own little secret. Nobody knows about it, not even my family. I have no one to trust with my secret. But my mind-reading skills can definately come in handy, especially when concerning my oh-so-loving family. 

For the longest time I thought of it as a curse, whenever I could hear the cruel and spiteful thoughts of my parents and siblings. But then I realized that I could also hear their deepest desires and darkest wishes. Which I was storing up until I was old enough to leave my family's house. Then I would use them to get whatever I needed to survive.

I was knocked out of my current state of being by a husky, masculine voice saying, "Sophie, would you mind talking to me for a couple of minutes?"

When I turned around I saw that it was Jamie Isla, and Skye's older brother. Before I could answer I heard the most annoying, high pitched, whiny voice in the world. Unfortunately, it was all to familiar to me. It was the voice of Katherine, my older sister. "Why are you talking to that loser Jamie? She's just my annoying and worthless sister."

I wanted to kill her for saying that in front of him but sadly, i was used to it by now. Which is why I am almost positive there was no emotion shown on my face. I snuck a peak at Jamie's face and saw that he looked at me with a pitying expression. It was an expression that I did not appreciate nor ever wanted to see. So I calmly walked away as soon as Katherine attached herself to Jamie's arm while trying desperately to get his attention. I knew with my gift that Jamie did not find her in the least bit attractive, and that he actually found her repulsive and would never consider dating her. I also knew that he actually had an eye on me although i was unsure as to why. I knew that guys thought of me as hot but I didn't see myself as anything special so why would he be interested in me or even want to talk to me?

Hey guys,

sorry that it's so short but it's almost 11 pm and my mom is yelling at me to get off my laptop. 

Random Note: watching the 4th Harry Potter Movie and I never noticed that Robert Pattinson was in that movie! anyways, movie's almost done and i've gotta go to bed.
