"So how do we get in?" Landon asked confused.
Rafael began to pace the area in front of the door. I had always known wolves were big, but I had underestimated the size of a werewolf. He sniffed the ground anxiously, he could sense something inside.
I could feel it too.
Large amounts of power radiated from the inside of the building. The power was too great to just be the necklace, there was something else inside the tomb, something powerful.
I looked towards Olivia.
She shrugged and walked towards the doors.
She placed both palms on the door and closed her eyes.
Nothing happened.
She closed her eyes again and pressed her palms back against the metal and whispered something in a language that wasn't English or Greek so I was out of luck understanding what it was.
The doors made a loud creaking noise as if they hadn't been opened in a millennia, which that hadn't, before they started to slowly open.
Hope, Landon, and Rafael squeezed their way through to cracked doors followed by Olivia and I.
"What was that?" I asked her.
"All I did was say Tomb of Ragnar in the old Norse language." She said winking at me before entering the tomb.
We walked a few minutes into the Tomb before Hope and Landon ducked behind a broken down pillar while Rafael's black fur blended in with the shadows.
We gave a slow jog and ducked down next to the couple.
"What's up?" I whispered to them.
Hope jerked her thumb over the pillar towards our next door.
I pressed my back against the pillar and looked over the top before ducking back down.
"Shoot." I complained.
"What is it?" Olivia asked.
"Skeletons." Landon replied.
I shook my head. "Worse. Draugr."
"Explain, please." Landon shrugged.
"Draugr are undead Vikings, they're like skeletons except they still have the warrior part of who they once were." I said to them.
"And they are wandering around a tomb that no one can get into why?" Hope asked.
"They guard the treasures of tombs, most are sleeping so as long as we're quiet they shouldn't wake but one wrong step and we'll have a tougher time getting to the necklace." I said to them.
"What do we do?" Landon asked.
I heard Raf growl in the shadows ready for a signal.
"The thing is." I said nocking two arrows into the bow I had summoned from my ring. "They go down just as easy as skeletons." I finished before standing up and sending two arrows into the the skulls of the two Draugr.
The crunching of their skulls filled they air and they fell to the floor in a pile of bones.
I vaulted over the pillar and was followed by the rest of the team as we continued forward.
"Landon, Hope grab their weapons for better protection." I said to them as we passed through.
Chattering from a lone draugr's teeth rattled through the corridor as we came to a single Draugr guarding a door at the end of the hall.
I signaled to Rafael and he was quick to attack the Draugr crushing it's bones in his teeth.
"Good boy." Landon said patting Rafael's hide as we passed by.
Rafael growled back at him.
"Wait, hold up." I said raising my hand suddenly causing Olivia to run into the back of me.
"What is it?" She asked me.
"Pressure plates." I said pointing at the circle in the ground that was almost invisible to us. I then pointed at the nozzles that were built into the roof. "Flame throwers."
"Good eye." Landon said as we crept around it.
"Keep it down." I whispered behind me. "We got sleeping Draugr."
We slowly crept along the floor for a while, sneaking passed all the draugr.
A rock cracked underneath Landon's feet and he cursed under his breath.
Bones began to snap and crack and moaning filled the air as the Draugr began to wake from their slumber.
"Weapons ready, we got company." I said to them.
My back grew warm as I heard flames crack in the air from Landon.
Olivia stood armed and next to me with her twin daggers while Stormcaster sat neatly in my left hand and electricity cackled in my right.
Rafael growled while Hope began preparing her spells.
The Draugr surrounded us inside the large chamber from every side of the room.
We each waited to see who would make the first move.
The Draugr raised their swords and roared before they charged towards us from all directions.
Olivia and I advanced together fighting side by side, back to back as we took out draugr after draugr.
I decapitated three at a time before turning and sending a chain of lighting through five of the Draugr as their bones burned and fell to the ground.
"Do you think Norse monsters turn into dust?" I asked Olivia as she rolled over my back and sliced down a draugr.
We spun around each other and returned back to our normal sides before she answered me.
"I don't know, do draugr count as monsters?"
"Achilles!" Landon yelled to me.
Hope was about to be overrun by skeletons and Landon was calling for my help.
I quickly changed my sword into a bow and fire five continuous arrows given Hope some more time before she had to fight again.
Olivia and I continued to battle off the draugr that just kept coming.
We each sliced some down and spun towards the middle where we ran into each other and came face to face again.
We smiled at each other.
"We make a good team." She said to me.
I shrugged. "Yeah, you're right."
Rafael howled as he playfully chewed on a bone like a dog.
Hope and Landon panted exhausted from the power they had just used to fight the horde of dead Vikings.
"If you guys are done with whatever you're doing we should probably get moving." Hope said to us.
"Just your average Tuesday of fighting Undead Warriors."
