Chapter 10: Requiem

3rd POV:

Several days later..., Blaze, Smokescreen and Optimus are out on a mission to collect another shard of Blaze's Crystal, when she sees that it's reacting to something in one of her sub spaces and opens the one the shard is having a reaction.

When she has it opened, Blaze sees what her Crystal shard is reacting to: Something she had long forgotten about that begins to glow as soon as it's exposed to the shard. Soon Blaze's optics lose their luster as they dull with a lost expression taking over what was present prior to finding the shard in the palm of her servo.

Soon however, both Mechs who were watching the whole scene notice the lost look in the Femme Dragon's optics and become concerned.

"Hey Blaze? What's the matter?" Smokescreen asks her worried.

"...." Blaze stands there remaining silent as if she hadn't heard her best friend.

"Blaze....?" Smokescreen tries again slightly shaking her to get a reaction, though not even her wings shook from the movement.

"Are you okay?" Optimus questions his Solinian sister, receiving the same silence as Smokescreen.

Blaze then looks away from the shard in her servos and up at the two Mechs seeing the concern in their optics, her own optics still lost in the daze of her own silent thoughts.

Once the two in front of the Dragon Princess finally awaken her from her spell of absence, Blaze breaks out of her disoriented stupor and quickly realizes the intense tension coming from the two.

"I'm fine, I just found the relic shard we came here for and I ended up getting lost in it." Blaze says managing to crack a fake smile, hiding her true emotions, the two before her not realizing the pain behind her smile.

However, Smokescreen is still having his doubts about her being fine as he sees her smile is not completely matching up with the sheen of her optics.

'Something's not adding up. She's smiling acting like everything is fine...but, I can tell something is off about her, though it's difficult to tell with her hiding her emotions most the time behind that stoic mask of her's...' Smokescreen thinks to himself unsure, but let's it go not wanting to annoy Blaze with his constant questions again even if nothing feels right about how his friend was acting just moments ago.

After a few moments of idly standing around, Optimus then com's Ratchet for a ground bridge allowing the three of them to return to base with another piece of Blaze's Crystal.

(Time Skip)

Later that night, Blaze makes a disappearance, causing the whole base to notice and begin to scour the entire place in search of the normally tranquil Dragon Femme.

Though after a while of searching they try her com link, only to find out she had turned it off.

"Strange...? Blaze never turns her com link off..." Ratchet says after a few failed attempts.

"Then why would she turn it off now?" Bee says in his usual beeps.

"I'll go check out the places she likes to hide in when she wants to be to herself sometimes, maybe I'll find her in one of those." Smokescreen suggested and Ratchet types in a random coordinate leading to one of said places, while saying he will try to locate her using her life signal.

Smokescreen then goes through the ground bridge expecting to see his Dragon friend on the other side. Once there he walks around seeing no sign of her and com links Ratchet the news.

"Hey Ratchet, doesn't look like she's here. Did you have any luck locating her signal?" Smokescreen asks.

"No....I haven't." Ratchet replies hesitantly.
