Nicholas POV
''So let me guess, she chose Mr. CEO over you?" she asked me and I grunted inaudibly as I tried to mask off the pure annoyance I felt towards everything including her at the moment.
However she didn't stop there and proceeded to walk towards me and plopped right beside me on the couch in my studio.
I hung my head down on the headrest and thought frantically of how to kick her out of my studio, she reminded me of Melissa. They were family, and though I couldn't bring myself to despise her it still sucks when someone else is chosen over you.
''I am not Melissa'' the blonde haired annoyance suddenly blurted out and I glanced at her momentarily before letting out a deep breath.
''I never said you were.'' I retorted and I heard her snicker.
''But that's what you're thinking of, aren't you?"
''What are you, psychic?" I asked her and she chuckled.
''Call me Suze the great mind reader!" She suddenly exclaimed and put on a proud smug.
''I know you aren't her...but you're related and I know its childish but I can't help but feel bitter towards you as well'' I admitted and she gave me a long gaze. I looked away from her and back at the ceiling, taking into memory the design of the wood used to make the ceiling. Everything was just in greyscale and I was struck with a deadly inability to muster the strength to do anything.
''So just because a girl dumps you, you're going to give up on everything you've worked on? Remember how excited you were about the festival? It's this weekend and we barely have everything we need to win.'' She unbearable dragged on and bit the insides of my mouth to prevent me from saying the first thing that pops up in my mind.
''Look Susan, I know you don't really believe in the concept of love or whatever so I don't quite expect you to understand what I'm feeling right now but it would be great if you got quiet for a while.'' I tried to calmly put my request across but she must've misinterpreted it for she shifted closer to me and stared at my face as I hung my head on the headrest.
I groaned and turned to face her, ready to tell her off more harshly than I had initially wanted.
''You can't push me away that easily, Cole'' She said with a soft smile and I frowned at her.
''This is my studio, this is my project, I can kick you out anytime I want to'' I stated firmly but that only made her smile wider and place her head on the headrest as well.
''Is that so? Why haven't you done it already then? Yell at me, tell me you don't need me for the project anymore, kick me out on the streets and wallow in your shame and self-pity.'' She rambled on and I closed my eyes momentarily trying to let everything sink in and hopefully then stop wallowing like she said but it was quite difficult.
I not only had her choice to deal with but also the fact I was too scared to step in for Anthony but she didn't hesitate to run to his side.
Some cousin I was.
I recalled when I first saw Anthony in a distorted state. It was after one of his father's many missions, I promised him I would always stand by his side and we'd face the storm together. However I got scared and my legs wouldn't move. Uncle was a menace and my body stupidly submitted to fear.
''Its more than that Susan, I don't expect you to understand.'' I told her and sat up properly in the seat.
''If you don't tell me about it how on earth would I know, much more to understand.''
Getting up from my seat, I walked over to my camera bag and decided to set up the camera for the shoot. Susan was extremely annoying but she was right about getting ready for the festival. I couldn't simply let me emotions take over me when the festival was right around the corner.
