"Steven? What are you doing?"
I turned my head to look over at Anthony, who was walking towards me with a smirk on his face. I smiled a little back before returning my gaze to the sky, which was a deep black with bright points of light scattered across it's dark surface. I heard a small rustle of some fallen leaves next to me, indicating that someone was lying down next to me. I didn't even need to look to know who it was.
Anthony and I were lying down on a bed of fiery leaves as we continued to look at the sky. The night was pretty chilly, mostly because it was the season of Fall, so cool weather is part of it's contributing factors. Wow, fancy talk by me. I was wearing a jacket so I wasn't that cold, but I could feel Anthony shivering next to me. I chuckled as I sat up, shrugging off my jacket and moving to place it on him as some sort of blanket, but he hastily sat up as well.
"Ze, you'll freeze to death if you give me that." I sighed and rolled my eyes at him.
"Well I don't want you to catch hypothermia and die either, so we're going to be at a stalemate." He looked at me, contemplating something. He then took my jacket from my hands and put one side around himself, then gave me the other half. I sighed again as I looked at it, wondering whether or not to take it. My breath froze in the cold air, giving me the answer. Grudgingly I took the other side and wrapped it around the left side of my torso. Because we're sharing the jacket, we were almost uncomfortably close. But he's warm. I'm not complaining.
We laid back down on the layer of leaves, listening to them satisfyingly crunch underneath us as we settled back down. The sky was still full of stars with the moon making an appearance through the leaves of a tree, dying them silver. I couldn't help but smile at the scene above me. Chilled chuckled a little before nestling a little closer into my side and placing his head on the right side of my upper chest. Instinctively my arm went around him, holding him at his waist.
"Beautiful night huh?" Anthony asked, still looking up at the sky with a sense of wonder in his eyes. I smiled again.
"Yeah. Just you, me and the moon." He shuffled a little, nuzzling his head further into my shoulder.
"That's all I need." He said quietly. I couldn't help myself.
I gently kissed him on the top of his head.
"Same here." He looked up at me, his eyes reflecting the light of the moon and the stars. He smiled a little at me and I looked at him. I didn't know what else to say. He captivated me. He messed with my emotions so much that I have difficulty saying how I feel about him. 'I love you' isn't enough when it comes to him. I reset my gaze to the sky again. The stars looked alive with their shimmering, their passion to keep burning preventing them from being disturbed in the cold October weather. A garden of stars. Grown from the eye of the beholder to become beautiful decorations that blossomed in the sky. I couldn't help but smile.
"If I lay here...If I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world?" I sang out of tune, causing Chilled to laugh a little at me. I smirked a little and tightened my grip on his waist, forcing a yelp of surprise out of him. "Sing Chilled, you know the words." I teased, gently pinching him. He laughed again and tried to push me away, but because of the jacket he only got me a centimeter away from him. "Siiiiiiiiiiing." He rolled his eyes with a huff.
"Fine."
"Yaaay!"
"Oh shut up Ze." He closed his eyes, trying to think of the words. I admired his face, he seemed so focused. That's not creepy...
Chilled sighed and opened his eyes and took a deep breath.
"If I lay here...If I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world? Forget what we're told, before we get too old, show me a garden that's bursting into life." I joined in, surprising him a little before he regained his composure.
"All that I am, all that I ever was, is here in your perfect eyes they're all I can see." We both sat up simultaneously and I place my forehead on Chilled's, and he leaned into it.
"I don't know where, confused about how as well. Just know that these things will never change for us at all." We were horrible. I'll say that much. But that moment was special to us, no matter how out of tune and off-beat we were. We shared a moment. A moment that would remain in our memories and define our relationship:
Cuddle buddies when the nights are cold.
Someone to share a jacket and a song with.
A duet that is filled with emotion, not musical skill.
A best friend.
A boyfriend.
Someone that is willing to put up with you for the rest of your life.
We are each other's night sky, full of sparkling light that just fills ourselves up with passion.
Screw "I love you"'s.
Chilled, you are my light in the darkness of this life. You are the colors in the trees in the dying sun, your words are poetry to my boring story. Just know this:
I'll share a jacket with you anytime.
Yes, I know that the wording in this is a little fancier than the others that I've written, but I felt that it fit the mood better.
Leave a REQUEST in the comments! I'm running low on them!
Feel free to leave a comment and such :)
See you in the next chapter guys!
