"Wait so you stole his shoes even though they were too big, and he didn't notice?!" I said laughing at Kyle's story.

Even though I acted like a complete spazz when he introduced himself to me, I've surprisingly managed to start acting like a normal human being and we've been laughing non stop for the past couple hours talking about our childhoods. He told me about all the foolishness he got into with his siblings & friends growing up in Flint and I told him about all the stupid, crazy shit me & Brandon used to do when we were younger.

"Yeah. To this day he still doesn't know that it was me. I had to double up my socks, but it was worth it." He laughed explaining how he took a teammates shoes when he was like 13 at the YMCA.

"Damn who knew you were a thug." I grinned nudging his shoulder. We sat close to each other off to the side on one the love seats, while everyone else was huddled by the tv watching the guys play Call of Duty. I could see the girls and occasionally Zo smirking at us out of the corner of my eye, but I just chose to ignore their instigating asses and focused on Kyle.

"You ain't know baby girl? Don't let the pretty face fool you." He smirked back before biting his lip looking in my eyes, making my cheeks heat up. I gave him a small smile before my shyness crept back up making me duck my head at his intense look.

I felt two fingers under my chin before he tilted my head back up to look at him. "I'm glad you came today, I've actually wanted to meet you for a while but you're always busy." He gave me a soft smile looking into my eyes making my heart speed up.

"Yeah the past year has been kinda crazy with my internship, that's the only downside; it seems like the only things I do are go to school, go to work, & sleep." I said trying to subtly take deep breaths to calm my racing heartbeat. He moved his arm that was resting on the top of the couch and wrapped it around my shoulder pulling me a little closer to him. I breathed in his cologne and sighed a little.

Ain't nothing like a fine brotha that smells good.

"There's nothing wrong with grinding, I admire that. It shows that you got your head on straight and I respect that," he started making me smile, "and honestly it's sexy seeing a woman so focused." He finished with a sly grin that made me feel like I needed to down a gallon of water to calm my thirsty ass down.

I honestly did not know how to respond to him and he could tell that I was getting nervous. He gave me a crooked smile before tightening the arm that was around my shoulder pulling me even closer to him.

"You don't need to be nervous around me lil mama. Imma be honest with you, I've been scoping you out for a while and I do really want to get to know you. Maybe hang out sometime without all the distractions." He grinned nodding his head toward our loud of friends making me giggle.

It took me a second to gather my thoughts and respond to him because I was distracted by how close he was to me.

"Sure I'd like that." I could feel the arm around my shoulder tightening even more than before making it so there was practically no space between us as I responded.

"Great." He smiled softly looking into my eyes. I saw him briefly glance down at my lips as I nibbled on my bottom one, a nervous habit that just won't seem to go away. It seemed like we were both in a daze at that point both leaning a bit closer to each other before a loud noise made us pause.

"Aye what you doing over there with my babymomma?!" Melo's loud irritating voice rung out making both of us cut our eyes at him.

Literally everyone in the room was staring at us; the girls, Jordan, Gelo, & Zo all had annoying smirks on their faces; Melo was standing up with a disapproving scowl on his face; and Brandon looked indifferent. Everyone thought that Brandon didn't know about my crush on Kuz, but he actually figured it out the day we went out to lunch. He promised me that he wouldn't say anything to anyone about it. I'm pretty sure everyone expects him to flip out considering how protective he is, but he told me that he knows that Kyle is a good dude, so he doesn't have any issues with it.

"Gap tooth sit down and shut up. Ain't nothing over here yours." Kyle sucked his teeth tightening the arm around my shoulder making it so my back was resting on his chest.

"That's right Kuz claim your girl!" Zo yelled making me pinch my nose and close my eyes in exasperation.

"Yeah we definitely need some alone time." Kyle whispered in my ear softly making me shiver. I know he felt it because he gave a low chuckle before kissing my cheek.
