In memoriam
I don't think you ever thought you would be in the 27 club
Joining Joplin, Hendrix, and Morrison
You never thought you would be famous for one night of your life
You never thought that when
you went with Simon and Rodolfo
The home you bought for you and your mother
a mere month and a half ago would become empty
A large husk of memories and a tombstone
you didn't realise you picked
Or how your ghost will always sit in your sister's passenger side
still teaching her how to drive
You were kind and caring
even when life wasn't kind to you
You worked hard
Managing all you were given
Providing for your family
You said
"I love you more than I love myself"
to Valeria, and then
Paid off her phone bill
So that when she needed you
She could always call
You never found true love
You never had someone fall in love with you
to feel their love cradle and protect you while you sleep
You wished for this so much
but even if you had a love to protect you
it wouldn't have mattered
Love doesn't protect against bullets
even though they both rain down

PoetryHere is my collection of poetry I have written throughout my school days. This is only school poetry. My personal poetry is for hopefully a book of poetry eventually.
