Just a quick not, I'm working on a sequel to this story called Through a Dragon's Eyes. The first few chapters are done and ready to be uploaded, but I won't be uploading them until this story is finished. Thank you and please enjoy.

After visiting Jade in the hospital, Lara and Alisha returned to the manor, telling the wolves and dragon's that she was recovering well, it would just take time for her to heal. "At least she's awake." Hugo said, trying to brighten the mood. Yes, at least she was awake and not in a coma, all of them wondering when and if she will open her eyes.

Jade had always been a beacon of hope within the family, constantly jumping to protect everyone from danger, no matter how hard or difficult it was. She tries her absolute hardest to make sure everything was well and good within the house, she was rather wise for a young woman her age. Having been born in Equestria and raised by her mother and aunt until she turned two and met her wolf brother's, sister's and Lara. Her mother's wise-ness had rubbed off on her. Lara had never met someone so devoted and wise in all her life before she met Jade. And now the brunette was taking on some of the Snow Queen's traits, such as being wise, protective, kind and caring.

Born with ice and snow powers, Jade had been isolated for most of her life, locked in her room for fifteen years. (Yes, it's a bit of Jade's backstory and based on Frozen, but don't judge me, please.) She'd always felt like she was being judged because of her abilities, but Lara never judged the young woman. Jade, when Lara first met her, was a shy girl, withdrawn from being raised as a only child. But once she got to know Lara, her sky nature began to change as she bonded with Lara, developing a playful, fun loving side. When she and her mother returned Lara to her home on Earth, she had begged Jade to stay with her, not wanting to be alone. Celestia, at first did not want to leave her daughter behind, but when she saw how Lara was clinging to Jade, she didn't have the heart to seperate the two girls due to them bonding so fast. So she allowed Jade to stay with Lara, under the condition that he four wolves stay with them. Lara's parent's, Richard and Amelia Croft agreed on the terms and Celestia hugged her daughter tightly, promising to visit as often as she could before telling Lara to look after Jade and then she left in a flash of golden light.

Growing up, Lara had felt alone while Jade was locked in her room and on her 21st birthday party, she had opened up to Lara, the two girls talking after fifteen years of no contact, reigniting the bond they had shared as kids, laughing and just enjoying each other's company. But their happiness was disrupted by Jade telling Lara that things could not go back to the way they once were, causing a slight rift between the girls. Roth, a father-figure to both girls had followed Lara outside where she expressed her frustrations in how Jade couldn't have the bond they once shared as children. Roth had told her that Jade was only trying to protect Lara, like she always had. That was enough for Lara to head back inside and forgive her best friend.

However, only an hour after the girls had forgiven each other, Jade wanted the party to end and sent Winston, their butler, to close the gates. Lara had torn herself away from Roth and in her haste to get Jade to stay, had ripped one of her blue gloves off her hand, Jade asked to have her glove back, but Lara had begged her not to go back to the way they had lived, as she couldn't handle it anymore. Jade looked like she was considering it before she replied that Lara leave if she didn't want to go back to the life she lived. Lara was left stunned Jade would even say that, saddened she was loosing her best friend again.

Her sadness changed to anger as Jade started to walk towards the ballroom doors, asking what she had done to make Jade act like she was, but the girl had asked Lara to stop, but she kept going, no longer able to contain her rage, yelling at the top of her lungs why Jade shut her out constantly and what she was so afraid of? Jade, feeling overwhelmed and angry with the questions, had snapped at Lara, telling her to stop, revealing her powers in the process, ice snapping from her fingertips, forming a wide arc, of spiked ice around herself, the sharp points aimed at the guests, shocking them and some were frightened by the ice.
