The next day Lara was flying with Shadow in the early morning hours, Opal flew beside them, keeping up easily. The Night Fury was just glad to be in the air once again. Roaring happily in joy, he performed a few tricks and flips, his tongue hanging out and flapping in the wind.

Opal chuckled softly to herself. Sure, he was handsome, but he could be a bit silly too, which she liked. The Light Fury watched as Shadow nose-dived out of the clouds, Lara clinging to the saddled, she understood his joy, for he hadn't gone flying since the other night, and he was anxious to stretch his wings.

Lara smiled, happy Shadow was finally in the air, this morning he had woken her up by banging on the roof of her bedroom, wanting her to wake up so she could take him flying. Unfortunately, it resulted in the whole house being woken up by the banging. Lara had to apologise to everyone before she headed outside where the happy Night Fury was perched on the roof, waiting.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Lara groaned, her brown eyes shifting open as dust rained down from the ceiling. A muffled, impatient roar was heard as the thumping continued. The brunette groaned in annoyance, rolling over and sitting up as Opal's head shot up, she growled in anger at being woken up and put her paws over her ears, trying to ignore the thumps. Lara rose to her feet, yawning as she glanced at the clock, 6:00! What! She stumbled out of her bedroom, still trying to wake up and saw the annoyed faces of Soren, Hugo, Maya, Keena and Alisha. All of them were tired and woken by Shadow's persistent thumping on the roof.

"Make him stop!" Alisha groaned, rubbing her tired eyes. Lara sighed and headed down the stairs, telling them to go back to bed before she swiped a apple from the fruit bowl and headed outside with Opal following her.

"Hey, get down here, you scaly reptile!" Lara called at the overexcited Night Fury that was perched on the roof, looking down at her. Opal, who was annoyed at being woken up so early, sat down a few feet away, almost like a dog, observing.

Shadow clambered down from the roof, bounding around Lara excitedly. The brunette chuckled and grabbed his flight gear he'd taken from Jade's room and began to saddle him up. Once he was done, she climbed into the saddle.

"You want to come too, Opal?" Lara asked, turning her head to face the Light Fury, who crooned in agreement and took to the sky, her saddle still on her back. Lara had offered to take it off, but Opal refused, it was comfortable to sleep in.

With a shrug of her shoulders, Lara held onto the handles and put her feet in the stirrups as Shadow crouched down low to the ground before shooting upwards into the sky, going a high speed and flapping his wings like mad.

Shadow swerved to the left, heading for a small cliff jutting out from a much larger cliff face, landing with Opal not far behind. Lara dismounted and sat down at the edge, the Night Fury laying beside her as Opal rested her head in the brunette's lap, cooing happily.

Lara smiled as the two dragon's lay beside her, the trio watching as the sun rose higher into the sky, bringing with it the start of a new day. Breathing in the fresh air, Lara sighed happily. She enjoyed this very much, it just felt lonely without Jade, who had woken from her coma just yesterday. Lara had gotten a call from the hospital.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Lara hurried into the kitchen and grabbed the phone from the stand, pressing the answer button and holding the device to her left ear. "Hello?"

"Hello, is this Lara Croft?" a woman asked on the other line.

"Yes, this is she."
