Brett's POV
"Hey, today is the day" Y/N told me.
"What?" I answered.
"Remember? you're going to give your gift to your special one?" She answered.
"Are you that old already?" She asked in a joking manner.
I just laughed with her and went outside the room.
Little did she know the gift was really for her.
The reason why I stuttered a while was because I was too focused looking at her.
I went to my locker as Y/N approached me.
"So where are going to meet?" She asked.
"At the park, nearby." I answered.
"I'll come with you. I wanna see her." She answered full of energy.
I nodded and we both went to the park
I sat on the bench and I signalled her to sit next to me.
"Y/N..."
"Remember the day I wanted to buy a gift for that special someone?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Do you want to know the reason why I tagged you along?" I added.
She nodded.
"The reason why I asked you to come with me is because the girl that I like is... you. We've been schoolmates for 3 years and classmates for like 5 months now and I wanted to get what you wanted without directly asking you so yeah." I answered.
She just looked at me shocked from what she heard and after a few moments she was able to speak.
"Brett, I want to thank you for the gift and the efforts you put in earning the money and the energy you used to buy this gift for me. I can really feel the love and care that you are giving to me. It's just that we're still students and I think it's right that we first focus on our studies, not that I'm saying I'm rejecting. I just think it's not yet the right ti--"
I cut her off and reassured her that it was okay.
"Y/N it's okay. I understand. I'm glad you aren't fully rejecting me. I'm willing to wait for us to graduate first before I court you. Don't worry. I'll be waiting. I promise."
She looked at me and I gave her a tight hug.
