5 Years Into The Future

Brandon's POV

Today's the day I get to finally see my family after 5 long years. I've had fun, but I really do miss game nights and family dinners and Callie. Callie. I can't even bear to think of what she will think when she see's me. What if she hates me? She can't. Can she? My thought's were interrupted by my phone ringing.

B: Hello?

S: Hey B. It's Mom I just wanted to make sure you landed.

B: Ya mom. We actually just got off of the flight. We're picking up our luggage.

S: WE?

B: Oh yeah mom. I brought a special friend. You might need to cook more food.

S: Yeah well I just wanted to make sure you landed, so I'm gonna go cook and I'll call you soon.

B: Ya mom. Is Callie there yet?

His voice trembled as he said her name.

S: No not yet. Her flight is supposed to land an hour later than yours.

B: Okay thanks. I'll talk to you later. Bye.

S: Bye B.

Just as I put my phone down my girlfriend Catherine came back and kissed me. "Hey, who was that?" "Oh that was my mom, I said quietly." "Okay, well the luggage is uspposed to arrive soon so let's do something. "Like what?" "How about we take a selfie?" I smiled. Catherine's had a thing for pictures lately. Just like Callie.

We took the selfie and it came out great actually. "See I told you that I'm an awesome selfie taker," I said with a cocky tone." "Ha, ha so funny. BUT i guess this time your right. You should set that as your lock screen" I quickly shook my head no. "I'll set it as my home screen." And I did. She then locked my phone to see my lock screen, which was the picture of me and Callie from moms' wedding. "Who's that? Your ex?" Cath asked. "No, that's my sister. My best friend. At least we were before I left." "The luggage is here!" she exclaimed, trying to brighten the mood, which wasn't really working.

We picked up our luggage and were now standing outside of my home. My home. Wow it felt good to be here again.

I rang the bell and was welcomed with a Mama sandwich. "I missed by baby so much," Mom siad. "Welcome Back Brandon," Lena said with that kind smile. "I missed you guys too," I said as I felt a tear forming in my eye. I moved on to the twins who both gave me seperate hugs. "Man, you've gotten taller," I said to Jesus who responded by saying, "Yeah, and guess what? Lexi's back. Of course you'd know these things if you hadn't left." I guess my facial expression changed because he quickly said, "Lighten up man, I was just kidding." I turned to my sister Mariana, who was now crying. "She leaned in and gave me a big hug and said, "Remember how on Callie's adoption day you told me that it wasn't true that everybody I loved kept leaving me. You left." She cried more as I gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Where's Jude?'" I asked. "Here I am," Jude said running up to me from the bathroom. He gave me a tight hug. It felt like the one he gave Callie that first day I saw her. I wondered why he was hugging me like this. So I asked him and he said, "Brandon your like my dad and you just left. Callie's like my mom and she just left. What am I supposed to do without my parents. I love you." I smiled as Jude and I never really bonded much and I whispered back, "I love you too."

I almost forgot that Cath was standing behind me. When I let go of Jude Mom asked, "So where's your special friend." Catherine came in front and Mariana's face changed from a smile to a worried, sad face. "Is everything okay?" I asked Mariana. "Yeah." That's all she said. "Everyone this is Catherine my girlfriend." Everyone greeted her, but at this point I saw even Jesus's expression go sour. As we headed for the kitchen I kept thinking about Callie. Callie.
