Sides of a story (being rewritten)

18 ~bad news~

As Virgil and Patton arrive at there old home, they see two faces in front of the window. Patton's mom jumped up and runs over to greet the two boys. As Patton and Virgil leave the car Patton immediately runs too the door. "How are my two favourite boys?" Patton's mom says exited as she hugs her son. "We are fine but we have so much to tell you mom!!" Patton says jumping up and down. She just chuckles and walks over to Virgil. "Hey sweetie, did you have a good trip?" She asks calmly as she reaches her hands out for Virgil to take. It was kinda their thing. Patton's mom, who's name is Veronica, was quick to adopt Virgil in the family after everything that happened. Just like Patton she has a caring nature and is really good with people. The only big difference is that Veronica is much calmer then her son. Virgil takes Veronica's hands happily. "It was fine, but you know me" he shrugs. "Yeah I'm sorry to be so mysterious but we rather tell you in person" she says as she and Virgil walk towards Patton and his dad who where, to nobody's surprise, making dad jokes. "Ethan, Patton Seriously? We aren't even inside yet?" Veronica giggles. "Awh come on love! You know us!" Ethan says with a happy smile. Veronica let's go off Virgil's hands and walks inside with Patton while Ethan walks over too Virgil. "Hi son how are you!" Ethan says hugging Virgil. "I'm fine, thanks" Virgil says hugging back. As they let go of each other they hear Patton "Come on Virgil!! Mama made cookies!!" Ethan laughs and Virgil smiles as they walks inside.

As the four of them where sitting inside with a drink and Veronica's famous cookies, there was an awkward silence. This was very unusual in this household. "Soooooo....." Patton begins while he takes a cookie from the bowl. "So.." Veronica says, taking a deep breath. "So..." Ethan says fiddling with his shirt. Virgil raises an eyebrow and looks at them. "Okay cut the crap, please just tell me" he says trying to act confident. Patton took Virgil's hand and looks at there parents expectingly. "We got a call... it's about the.. well about you and Levi..." Veronica says calmly. Virgil's eyes widen. He squeezes Patton's hand as panic rises in his chest.

"W-What about him" Virgil says tears in his eyes. Veronica stands up and kneels in front of him and takes Virgil's free hand in hers. "He escaped prison honey.... he is free..." she says softly looking at the boy that she sees as her own son. Virgil's eyes widen as his mind races. He stands up rather abruptly and stumbles away from the living room. 'Out I need... I need..' Virgil thinks as tears start to stream out his eyes. He runs trough the kitchen to open the door to the backyard. He runs to the big oak tree in the back of the yard. This was Virgil's safe space ever since he moved in with Patton and his family. Before he can reach the tree he falls down on his knees. "Why..." Virgil's says shaking weakly. "Why..."

As Virgil runs away Patton stands up to follow but his mom holds him back. "Let him go Love, he needs some space." She says softly as a tear streams down his face. Patton looks up to his mom and hugs her tightly. "I'm scared for him mama" He says softly as he starts to cry. "I now munchkin, I know" Veronica says as she holds her son in a tight embrace.

Ethan stands up from the couch walking over to his son and wife and joins the hug. "This is why you wanted us to come over.." Patton says softly, muffled by his moms t-shirt. "We didn't want you guys to go trough this alone, we heard wonderful stories about your new friends but this is a family thing..Me and your mom where thinking that it maybe a good idea that you guys go away for a while? Like on a holiday.. but more that you and Virgil aren't on the same address as you are now." Ethan explains. "You think he will try to find Virgil?" Patton looks up at his parents. "Let's hope not.. but we think it also could do you guys some good.." Veronica explained, trailing her hand over her sons cheek. They all let go of each other and sit down again. "I think it's a good idea.. but I won't do anything V isn't comfortable with.." Patton states. "Of course not." Veronica says as she smiles softly. "I'm going to check on Virgil.." Patton smiles somber as he makes his way to his best friend.

Well this took a turn, this chapter is suppose to help the story continue and to introduce the boys there parents. Btw thank you guys for all the support I'm getting on this story lately! I know my English isn't the best (I'm better at speaking the language than writing it) and I'm glad you guys understand and encourage me to write more!! Love you guys💜
