Rain.
It's falling around you. You keep on slipping and falling while trying to run. But in the end, you just have scrapes and bruises covering you like makeup. Your sobs echo around you and you see nothing in this dark cave that you got yourself in. If it's a cave.. Why is it raining? You swear you were outside with other human beings that were fleeing from the dripping skies just like you. Then you hear snapping noises behind you. You crawl toward the snaps and you realize its a woman opening and eating sunflower seeds. Then your stomach meows for milk and you reach out for a seed. The woman faces slaps your hand away and starts yelling at you. But the woman didn't scare you- it was the fact that you can't hear her. The older woman starts rambling and screaming without noticing you couldn't hear her. You could still hear the tears dripping. Tears? Where did that come from? You rub your face and realize you were crying. You try to stop when the woman notices and sneers at you. It felt like muffs were lifted away from your head and then you could hear every word.
"You shouldn't be crying- I should! I should because I was bestowed by such a inconsiderate child that can't do nothing but cry and never asks me if I'm okay!"
Her face became red when you widen your eyes at her. She starts screaming louder. While she talks you observe a man on the couch just observing everything with a poker face.
"Oh right- I'm the evil one here! Stop crying worthless snob. I should be crying, I should be gifted the world for being such a great mother to you but noo- all I'm granted with is a fat pig!"
Suddenly memories that weren't your own start filling your mind. And you start thinking while the woman screams, and the older man stares.
The woman, my mother?
The man, my brother?
My mother bullies me?
My brother abuses me?
I...cut?
Why?
It seems like
I have friends, good grades, a good personality.
Then I see my brutal past.
And I see why.
I think.
You lower your head and trace the scars across your arms. No fresh cuts. But you feel a stinging feeling on your legs. You roll up your pants and see cuts. New cuts were being added out of thin air and you yelp in surprise. The people disappear and you're in darkness again. But then a mirror floats up to you. It shows a girl who's cutting her legs on the same exact place on your appearing cuts. You reach out through the mirror and you see the girl look up at you in shock. You smile while crying.
"It hurts us as much as it hurts you."
You fall through the mirror and hug her close to you. You see the blade melt in her hands and she sobs on your shoulder.
people care.
