Nettles

This place was utter hell. You imagined Hell as being fiery pits, demons, but the silence and emptiness of everything around you was complete torture.
You roamed through an empty forest, void of all noise except the sound of your own footsteps beneath you. The trees around you twisted and turned into unnatural shapes, and odd plants were scattered about the ground around you, nettles being the most common of them all.
As you kept walking, the trees became more and more scarce, and became more of a desert than a forest after not too long. Past some of the few remaining trees however, was a field full of nothing but nettles, short and tall, thin and wide, on a grey patch of land.
You heard footsteps from somewhere nearby, and thinking quickly, slinked behind a tree. The footsteps were oddly uneven, as if the person was tripping over their own feet every two steps. Then, they began talking to themself. You couldn't make out many words, except "hello," and "nettles". Their voice was somewhat brittle, as well as soft and quiet.
Poking your head around the side of the tree, you saw a man; but not just any man. This man was enormous- extremely tall, but unnaturally thin. And even weirder, his skin was a light shade of green. His back was turned to you, so you couldn't see his face. He bent over to pick a nettle up out of the ground, and began stroking it gently with creepily lengthy fingers.
Your face twisted in confusion as you watched this man emotionlessly stroke the plant, no matter how many rashes it gave him. I...I should get out of here, you thought to yourself, taking a step back- and, not watching where you were going, you tripped over a fallen branch, falling to the ground with a loud thud.
"Oh..?" You heard the man whisper, as he turned around to get a look at you. You scrambled up onto your feet without getting a good look at him and ran.
You ran and ran, jumping over twigs and rocks in front of you. You came across a large, fallen branch, and leapt over it- and landed your foot right into a bear trap. You tripped over it as it clamped down onto your leg, slamming your head against the cold, hard ground.
You tried to get up, but were already beginning to black out. Pain shot up your leg, making it hard to move anyway. You managed to sit up and grab the bear trap, trying to yank it open, but grew weaker the harder you pulled; so you just gave up and fell onto your back. Your vision was blurring, and your ears were ringing- but despite this, you saw the weird man from earlier standing above you. He was the last thing you saw before passing out completely.
