2. Laughing Stock

I walked inside of the classroom, keeping my head down low. The only available seat was either next to Jaehyun or in the back, alone.

I tried to sneak off to the back desk, but before I could the teacher cleared her throat. "Miss Montez."

I squeezed my eyes shut before looking up. "Yes?" I answered guiltily.

Everyone turned their attention towards me...even Jaehyun.

"You're late." She simply stated.

"Yes, I know. I'm so sorry, it won't happen again." I told her, continuing to sit my things down on the desk, in the back.

She nodded. "Fair enough. Consider this a warning." She told me before turning around towards the board.

Jaehyun gave me an odd look. I looked at him with a confused look. "What?" I whispered. He eyeballed the chair next to him, questioning why I didn't sit by him.

I shrugged, ignoring him as I took my seat.

That asshole. How could he be so cute and caring. Ugh! Why can't we just be together? Oh right, because he's a cheater. Focus Nola, you can make it til fourth block, you can do this!

A note suddenly flew on my desk. I looked up to see a boy with a colorful ass jacket looking at me. "It's from him." He whispered, pointing to Jaehyun.

I unwrapped the crumpled paper as I read what was inside.

I quickly wrote back.

I tapped the boy's shoulder as he passed it back to the front. Jaehyun laughed a little as he turned around, "Why?" He mouthed. I shrugged, trying to ignore him as much as I could until the paper came flying right back onto my desk.

I sighed.
