Rain sighed as her eyes slowly fluttered open. She yawned and stretched her tired limbs, glancing over at the beautiful specimen of a man that was snoring quietly next to her with a smile. The rhythmic rise and fall of his hard chest was almost hypnotizing. His dark curls were messy from sleep and the furrow that was usually embedded in his forehead was smooth as no worries could bother him in rest.
"Why are you awake so early?" Adam muttered, startling Rain.
"I thought you were still asleep!"
He opened an eye to peer at her. "I've been awake for an hour. I was just resting until you got up. I thought I had at least another thirty minutes considering your habit of sleeping in."
"You don't have anywhere to be this morning?"
He sat up pulling Rain with him and checked his watch. "Not for another hour. Why? Do you want me to leave?"
"No," she said with a content sigh. "I wish we could stay in bed all day."
Adam kissed her forehead gently. "Me too."
"What do you have planned for the day?"
"My mother and Emily will be here in a few hours so I've got to get ready for that. I have some work to look over too so I might do that after dinner."
"Oh, okay. I'll make sure Sunny and I stay out of the way today."
He frowned and looked down at her in confusion. "What do you mean by that?"
"It's your mother's first time meeting the boys. It should be just family don't you think?"
Adam opened his mouth and closed it again, trying to choose his words carefully. "I would very much like for you and Sunny to be with us."
Her cheeks tinged pink as she blushed at his implication. "If you're sure--"
"I'm sure," he said, leaning down to kiss her. "Now, do we want to talk about what all of this means?"
"What all of what means?"
"How do you feel about me?"
Rain snorted. "I thought I made that clear last night."
It was Adam's turn to blush this time. "You know what I mean. Sex is sex. You can do that with anyone. You know that I like you and I want to know how you feel."
"I don't have meaningless sex," she replied quietly. "I have to have feelings for someone to have sex with them."
Adam was silent for a beat. "Are you trying to say you like me too?"
"Yes, you dummy!" She groaned pushing herself away from him. "I thought I was making it pretty obvious. Why did you make me say it out loud?!"
He chuckled and pulled her back into his embrace. "I was fairly sure, I just wanted to know if you had admitted it to yourself yet."
"I was trying not to. This is completely inappropriate. I'm your employee."
"Then I'll fire you," Adam said stifling a laugh.
"Be serious, Adam."
"I am being serious. I would rather have you as my-"
"Shh!" Rain clasped her hand over Adam's mouth. "Do you hear that?"
"Mommy?!"
"Shit! It's Sunny! She can't see you in here!" She shoved Adam out of the bed throwing his clothes at him as he scampered into her bathroom. "Hold on Sunny! Mommy's coming!"
She grabbed her robe and covered herself just as Sunny pushed the door open. "Good morning, mommy!" Sunny exclaimed, rubbing her tired eyes.
"Hi, sweetie. What are you doing up here?"
