It took a good minute for me to register what my mother had said. I had a sister, and I was naive enough to believe there wouldn't be anymore secrets. The excitement of finding out I had another half blinded my thoughts on why there was no record of her existence.
Until she questioned it herself.
"If I'm a princess, then why is there no record of me?" She looked rather hurt.
"Because when you were born. It was as if you were asleep, you never cried, and it was scary. The both of you were like that actually. It was sad. We had to get an angel to charm you. The charm increased your powers so much," Our mother looked back at the two of us.
"So then, why was it that I was seen by the public, and she wasn't? Why don't we remember any of this?" I asked.
"Would you all excuse us?" Mother gestured towards the door. We left the room, and head to the main staircase, as we walked, she spoke," You two are the rightful heirs of the great dragons powers. When you were younger however, the power was to much for your bodies to handle, causing it to slowly collapse. We had an angel charm you, and the powers merged with the charm, causing you to change from identical twins, to polar opposites with the same features,"
She was right. We had the same face, but our personalities completely clashed. We had reached the top of the incredibly long stari case. Mother lead us down a hall in silence, to a door I had never seen before. It was a huge oak door, and was incredibly dusty.
"This is where we keep all the secrets of the kingdom, vampires believe it's only a legend, such as the legend of the twins," She gestured towards us,"You are welcome to come here anytime, to find out about anything, except that book," She pointed to a thick book, it looked so old, yet at the same time new, like it had never been touched.
"What's that book?" Michelle looked at it carefully, like she was analyzing the cover.
"That book holds the names of every vampire from the beginning of time to this day, and thenames of their true love. You cannot mess with that book, if you do then the balance will be ruined,"
"Ok damn, you said we can't touch it, I just wanted to know what it was for," Michelle said laughing.
