When Seungmin woke up nearly an hour before his alarm was supposed to go off to the obnoxious wailing of sirens, he knew it was going to be a bad day. But his premonition was confirmed when he stepped into school with a blinding headache and water in his shoes. It had been raining on and off all morning, and Seungmin had been lucky enough to get caught in it's "on" time during his walk to school.
"Good morning, beautiful," Hyunjin greeted him happily, throwing his arm over Seungmin's shoulders and kissing his chubby cheeks.
"It hurts," Seungmin whined, leaning into Hyunjin's comforting touch.
"What does?"
Seungmin pouted and pointed at his head, too tired to explain using his words.
"If it gets any worse I'll take you home, okay?"
Hyunjin was smart enough to drive his car to school, and Seungmin was beginning to regret leaving his at his house.
"Yes, please."
Science was a typically pleasant class, void of any trouble makers or annoying popular girls, but Seungmin couldn't find it in him to focus. His eyes would blur if he stared at the board for too long, and the quiet clinking of glass vials annoyed him to no end. It was very tempting to take a baseball bat to each cylinder, but Hyunjin's hand rubbing comforting circles on his thigh kept his psychotic thoughts at bay.
Mina had yet to make her presence known to either boy, and Seungmin was grateful he wouldn't have a reason to actually get the baseball bat from the supply closet in the gym.
"The bell rang already. How are you feeling, my love?" Hyunjin knelt down to face Seungmin, whose eyes never strayed from the blank worksheet in front of him.
"Pain," Seungmin whispered meekly. Hyunjin nodded in understanding and packed away Seungmin's things, hiking the blue bookbag over his shoulder.
"Lunch, baby."
Seungmin winced when another stabbing pain in his head nearly sent him tumbling to the floor. He somehow managed to make it to their lunch table without passing out, and immediately sat down.
"Someone end me," Seungmin groaned. Hyunjin was gently massaging his shoulders, placing soft kisses along his shoulder blades occasionally.
"It's okay. It'll get better. Do you want anything else?" Hyunjin whispered. The cafeteria was already upsetting Seungmin's headache further, and he didn't want to add any unnecessary noise. Even Felix had shut up to give Seungmin some relief.
"Death." Seungmin laid his head on the table, the sticky surface amounting to nothing against the force of his headache.
"Sorry, that's not an option."
Hyunjin gently pulled Seungmin back into sitting position, fingers delicately facing the boy towards him. He kissed his lips tenderly, then his cheeks, then his nose, stopping his escapade at Seungmin's exposed forehead.
"We need to go to class, but I'll take you home now if you want?"
"Take me to your house and we have a deal." Seungmin smiled cheekily.
"As you wish, my prince."
Hyunjin swung Seungmin's bookbag over his shoulder and held his own loosely by his side. His other hand was occupied by Seungmin's soft one, and although he was struggling with the added weight, he ignored it. He guided Seungmin down the virtually empty hallways and out of the side door. His beat-up Chevy was parked in it's designated spot, which Hyunjin had decorated with chalk drawings of flowers and Kkami. He put the bags in the backseat and watched as Seungmin clumsily buckled himself in the passenger seat.
