Hospital

Cassie's POV

   "What medicine is she taking,?" I sighed trying to remember "vincristine, and dasatinib " I said, Cassie had a blanket on her. I thought for a moment, "wait, if kids have leukemia, they wouldn't have these symptoms and then go into cardiac arrest, if they had these kind of symptoms they would have been noticed Wright away, " I was thinking of mercury poisoning.

  "Nurse Gray what are you thinking " I looked to shayne he nodded, "are you thinking what in thinking" I asked he nodded. "Cassie, did you have a bone marrow transplant? "She shrugged, "do you have chemo therapy " she shook her head. "If she would have had chemotherapy she would have to have bone marrow transplants because the chemo would kill healthy cells. And would weaken her bones, cassie can I see something" she nodded.

I moved the blanket and moved her pants a little ways, no scar. "No scar no leukemia, which means-" shayne cut in, "mercury poisoning" I nodded, "okay, cassie when we get to the hospital, we will get you into X-rays " she looked scared "does that hurt" I shook my head "no sweetie, it won't hurt" she nodded.

  I gave shayne a look, "do you live with your mom?" Shayne asked her, she shook her head. "But grandma takes care of me I only get to see my mom on weekends " we nodded. "You might want to get the police down to the hospital too." I said he nodded. I looked at the monitor, "BPM is at 74/100" I said.

  A little later we were at the hospital, the doors opened. The doctor and team were there and the doctor asked "are they the parents " the Paramedic said "no, bystanders Nurse Gray, and Shayne topp" he nodded, "nurse Gray what were the symptoms " I said back as Cassie was rushed in. "Dehydrated, bloody nose, fainted when she tried to walk, she went into cardiac arrest " she nodded.

  "Thanks for bringing her back... Cassie, what in the world you doing here" my mom was one of the doctors as we ran in. "Bystander. She went into cardiac arrest " she scoffed. "You two wait out here, you don't work here " I stopped with shayne, "you don't work here, yeah I know. Old lady" I said and sat down crossing my arms.

  "What's her deal? " shayne asked sitting down, "I never understood her, she wanted me to become something big like her and my dad, and then she hates me because I turned my job around. " I said calming down, "that must've sucked" I nodded, "she kicked me out too, I used to work in this place. Until Ian, came here and found me, before I started my shift " shayne smiled.

  "Ian found me walking around LA and recognized me. God where does he find us" I laughed, "yeah, Courtney said she was going to be bringing her diaries in for us to read. Oh god" I said, shayne laughed....

     Three hours later

    We have been waiting here and when my mom cane out she sighed, "so Cassie what did you do to Her" I laughed "I didn't anything thanks Kathleen, shayne and I actually git her to breath again, thanks to mercury poisoning " she scoffed, "how do you think it's mercury poisoning " she folded her arms. I stood up, "did you bring her to X-rays, because if you did you would see that she doesn't have a bone marrow scar in her pelvis like other leukemia patients also her symptoms didn't add up to her cardiac arrest. But don't listen to me, you never did. Tell Cassie I hope she gets better" I said, turning away and walking out of the hospital...

  Shayne's POV

  "Cassandra Ruth-" her mom took in a deep breath. "You must be Ian, the one who took her away from potential " Ian nodded, "yup, I could tell she wasn't happy here, and you should see her now. She loves the job that I gave her, she is part of our family." She looked at me, "you believe my daughter I assume " I nodded.

  "I do, because she never lies, she is worth something to all if us, she is generous, because she quite from a job that's she didn't like, and I'll say this. I love her, she is an amazing kind girl, who takes other people's needs before her own, god damn you can say that I don't understand sometimes. But I understand why she doesn't want to be like you, you don't listen like she does. So good day, to you Kathleen." I said and walked out to find Cassie's.

  I heard woah's and aw's as I walked away, "wait!" Her mom said said, I stopped and turned around, "tell her she can come and visit the girl" I nodded and walked out again. I found Cassie sitting on the bench. When I sat down next to her she said, "I heard what you said shayne, thank you for standing up for me" I hugged her and said, "you deserve to be stood up for. " she smiled.

  "Come on we should go" I said, she nodded.

  Cassie's POV

   We stood up and he took my hand, and we waited for everyone to come out. Courtney aw'd at us holding hands, "come on let's get back, with the day we all had. We should go and relax."we agreed and went back to the office.

  When we got back, shayne and I talked with everyone until we left for the day. When we left, I got in my car and drove home, but on my way. I saw an Adoption center, and in the front it said PTSD animals. I decided I would just stop by since it is friday and I don't have work this weekend. But when I went to look I saw a beautiful girl, she's all white and her face is all squishy.

  "What's her name?" I asked, bending down to pet her....
