Beach

Cassie's POV

  We were at the beach, I just let maddie off her leash and she sprung into the water. "I knew it was a good idea to bring towels" shayne and everyone laughed. "Oh my god that's great" I started laughing with them. "Damien can we bury you in the sand" Mari asked, "oh fine. Just don't draw me as a dick okay" they nodded, "Shayne you getting in on this too" he nodded and started burning Damien.

  Courtney had gotten here and started filming. I had layed out a towel on the ground, and sat down watching them bury Dams. "Cassie can you come shield Damien's face" Mari asked. I got up looking to see maddie coming over here. "I got you Damien" I said putting a rolled up towel under her head and putting my hands in a shielding place.

  "Oh thanks mom" I sighed with a smile, "your welcome kiddo " I said we all laughed. A little later, Shayne and Mari finished burying Damien. Maddie was playing in the sand near by. Maddie came over and layed down on my leg, my other leg was bent and holding Damien's head up with the towel.

  "I've got ten kids" I said. We all laughed, "Am I one of them" I shook my head, but Damien and Mari are, so is everyone else. Including Maddie, look at her" Maddie was rolling around in the sand, "oh boy I get to give her a bath later" she perked her ears up and ran away.

  I shook my head, and looked down at Damien, "you want to get out now Dams" he nodded "very much so" I nodded "okay get him out " they started to uncover him. And when they did, me and shayne went on a walk. Shayne had taken my hand in his, as we walked he said "I just don't understand why you love being so nice to everyone " I smiled.

  "Shayne, I just don't want my friends and family in this you guys are both, I don't want them hurt " he nodded with a smile. "I get that" he said holding onto my hand as if I was going to let go of him. "Shayne what are you so worried about " he sighed, losing his smile. "What if our Ex's, try to hurt us again. I wasn't strong enough to protect you the first time, what will happen next time" my eyes softened.

   I stopped him and he didn't look at me, "shayne we don't know what will happen next time. But we will now when it happens " he still didn't look up at me, I lifted him by his chin and he looked up at me, "I'm not strong enough to protect you" I smiled, "Shayne, I know you didn't fight back. That was a tough choice for you, because you didn't want me hurt. But it was brave and strong of you to not fight back. You may think your not strong, but I can tell you that you are wrong about yourself " I said

   "Shayne, I love you for your heart, I don't care if your strong or not. Your strong to me and that's all that matters" I said, he nodded giving me a hug. Maddie came around and whimpered rubbing her head on Shayne's leg. He pet her back and we all went to a restaurant that was ninja themed.

  I gave Damien a ride with me, I put towels down in the back and Maddie got in and layed down. Me and Damien talked, "so I heard Shayne asked you to be his girlfriend " I smiled while we pulled away from the beach. "Yeah, I know he's way better than my ex " he nodded, "I've known shayne for nine years, all of that time he was only the nicest man to everyone we met" I nodded.

   "That's why I love him, just his heart is so big. He has a lot of love to give everyone, goodness " I said, as we stopped in traffic. I was leading everyone to the restaurant. "If you don't mind me asking what did your Ex do?" I sighed, "well, in high school when I moved here. I was born in Berlin, Germany, moved to mora Minnesota, then moved to princeton Minnesota, and then here. " he nodded, "I was also born in Berlin " I nodded, "that's sweet. Don't you want a pretzel that's the size of your head" he nodded.

  "I so badly need it. But what's up with your Ex?" He said getting back to the subject. "Well I moved here in high school, and Courtney quickly became a sister to me. But this guy, Josh. He was so mean to everyone, but not to me?" I said, Damien nodded.

  "Courtney warned me about him, told me he would use me like he did half the grade. And he did just way worse, I was the first one he-" I let out a breath "I was the first one he abused, not just physically but emotionally and mentally. Courtney one day saw and we got Josh out of the school and he went to jail." I said, Damien nodded.

   "Oh I'm sorry" I shook my head as I excelled my car. "It's fine, but um he's out if jail now, and he is with Layla now" Damien gasped, "what is that who she cheated with" I nodded. "Yup, Shayne and I's first date. We ran into them after, Shayne didn't fight back, i know why he didn't. But he blames himself for it, " Damien nodded.

  "Yup, that's Shayne. If that's the one thing I would change about him it would be the way he thinks about himself " I nodded with a sigh. "Mari actually came to the rescue. " Damien let out a laugh, "that's Mari for ya" I laughed. "Before we left for the date, Mari set rules for me and Shayne, but she said them in Japanese, I understood them" Damien nodded.

  "I know Anime " I laughed, "shayne said that too" we laughed, and talked until we got to the restaurant. I left the windows open, for Maddie and we waited for everyone to catch up....
