POV: James Norrington

Zuri's eyes locked on mine and her entire body froze. I smiled at her. "You gonna kill this guy?"

"Huh? Oh!" She moved quickly, stabbing the pirate in the gut.

"That's better," I said with a smile, wrapping an arm around her waist and dropping my sword arm. I leaned in romantically and brought my lips to hers. My mouth connected to hers in a deep French kiss. Zuri practically melted at the touch of our lips, her entire body going limp against mine. Her eyes fluttered closed.

"NORRINGTON!" Sparrow yelled angrily. "GET AWAY FROM MY SISTER!"

Neither Zuri or I responded.

"OI!" Will yelled. "Are you trying to get yourselves killed?!"

I broke to breathe, then went right back. Elizabeth grinned at me and gave me a thumbs up.

To my left, there was the sound of someone approaching. I held out my sword and heard a strangled gurgle. To the right, a pirate snarled and Zuri sliced with her sword, her free hand finding its way to the back of my neck.

"Okay, I'm glad you guys have made up and all that," Elizabeth called, "but we really need help!"

"We are helping!" Zuri said, breaking her lips from mine to yell back to Elizabeth, but returning to me instantly.

"STOP EATING EACH OTHER'S FACES!" Sparrow yelled.

Zuri and I looked at each other and broke apart at the same time. We returned to the fight as the others spread apart, staying beside each other until Sparrow got himself in trouble. Zuri kissed my cheek and dashed off to help her brother.

I stumbled toward the rowboat and snatch up Sparrow's jacket. I search through the pockets for the Letters of Marque and hide them in my own pocket once I've found them, careful to make sure no one has seen my shenanigans. My eye caught on the dirt pile on the rowboat seat. Suddenly my brain clicked. My eyes went to the jar of dirt.

I made my decision.

POV: Zuri Sparrow

My hazel-green eyes met James's green ones. I was frozen, completely and utterly captivated by James...his handsome face, his kind eyes, his sweet smile.

"You gonna kill this guy?" he asked.

"Huh? Oh!" Quickly, I stabbed the pirate in the gut, hoping to make up for getting lost in James's gaze.

"That's better," James murmured, still smiling. He wrapped his arm around my waist, his sword arm dropping to his side, and leaned in romantically. He brought his lips to mine and pressed a deep French kiss to my lips. My muscles suddenly went weak and I went limp against James's body. My eyes fluttered closed, happiness taking over every ounce of me.

"NORRINGTON!" Jack's voice was filled with anger. "GET AWAY FROM MY SISTER!"

Neither of us made a move to go anywhere and neither of us offered a response.

"OI!" Will yelled. "Are you trying to get yourselves killed?!"

James broke off to breathe, then came right back.

To my right, there was the sound of someone approaching. James held out his sword and I heard a strangled gurgle. To the left, a pirate snarled and I sliced with my sword, hitting my target, and my free hand finding its way to the back of James's neck.

"Okay, I'm glad you guys have made up and all that," Elizabeth called, "but we really need help!"

"We are helping!" I said, breaking my lips from James's mouth to yell back to Elizabeth, but returning to him instantly.
