CLICK! Kari pulls the camera from her eye, tapping the screen to review the photo. She shows it to Eevee, "Looks pretty good, huh?" Vee! He's sitting in the bike basket with his giant Dragonair plush, the bike leaning up against a tree. Kari takes a seat and pulls out her Orangics laptop from the back of her pack. She connects her Flash CanonX camera to the laptop and begins the downloading process onto her PokéPress Blog.

She looks up to admire the bridge. It was tall and long enough to stretch over the entire waterfront of Route 17. The last time she had come down this path the bridge was not here. They had only begun construction so, naturally, she had to take the long way around in order to reach the next town. Kari's fingers are flying across the keyboard as she begins to type, speaking aloud to herself, "But this time we'll finally be able to cross in style~!"

Packed up and ready for the journey across the Cycling Road, Kari and Eevee head out. Just ahead she recognizes an older man sitting in a small blue booth. It was the same Security Guard that had helped her out the last time she was here 3 years ago. She raises her hand, ready to wave as she passes, but as he spots her in his mirror the man stands. He steps outside to meet her.

"Hey there, Little Miss, you best be careful if you're planning on taking the Cycling Road." Kari stops to look at him. She can tell that he doesn't remember her, but what was with the warning, "What am I supposed to be careful about?" He scratches his head, a nervous smile on his face, "Well, you see... Although this bike path may be the fastest way to the other side, it's also gotten kinda dangerous."

Kari and Eevee share a look, "Dangerous? How so?" The Security Guard turned and pointed along the road, "About halfway down the path a group of tough Trainers are usually hanging around. They've even made themselves into a Bike Gang of sorts." He turns a worried look in her direction, "They lie in wait for unsuspecting Trainers like yourself before challenging them to battle." Kari's eyes light up, "Really!? How exciting!"

The man blinks, confused. He chuckles, "I'm being serious, you know. They're pretty tough for a little miss like you..!" Kari swings her leg back over the seat, "And that's what makes it so exciting!" She pushes off and starts pedaling. The guard calls to her, "Are you sure you'll be alright!?" Kari waves to him, "No worries! We'll be fine. Thanks, tho!" He scratches his head, "Odd... Now that I think about it, there's something familiar about her..."

With the sun high in the sky and the wind blowing through her short hair, Kari pushes onward through the bicycle path. Eevee pokes his head out of the basket, taking in the warm sun. Kari and Eevee smile at each other, "Isn't this great?" She turns to look out at the water. The crystal clear skies reflected in the water below, a soft breeze rippling above the surface. To her right, the expansive bay with the mountains looming far off in the distance; to her left, the city docks with rooftops barely visible over the trees.

A car honked as they passed. Kari waved at the kids sitting in the backseat, their parents smiling as they drove on. She was sure to keep to the side where bikes were permitted. According to the PokéNav, with the path stretching over 10 miles only cars and bikes were allowed. Kari wondered if her legs would be able to manage the entire journey, "Even so, at this pace we'll be on the other side in no time!" Vee-Eevee!

...

VEeee~! Eevee yawned as he stretched out on the pink cobblestones. They had been riding for almost two hours before deciding to take a break. Kari walked up to the vending machine and paid for some drinks. From her backpack she unfolded a small bowl for Eevee to use and poured in the Strawberry Lemonade. He ran forward, happily. He sniffed the contents, wagging his tail. Kari laughed, "How lucky that they had your favorite!" She crossed her legs and sat beside him as she drank from her own bottle.
