Why Witches' Homes Should Be Approached with Caution
Myra's jaw dropped. "And you're just going to go visit her like nothing happened? What if she does it again?"
"She won't" Sam said bluntly.
"Not unless Sam asks her to," snorted Meris, who was doing a very poor job of covering up his giggles.
Before the next second passed, Meris found himself smacking face first into the pavement, followed by a pair of heavy boots walking up his spine and stepping off his head.
Note to self: Don't mention Silversin around Sam anymore.
While Meris was still lying on the street, and Dru was collapsed beside him laughing hysterically; Myra cautiously followed Sam from a respectable distance as he continued on.
When they were finally close enough to see the grandeur of Silversin's estate they had all ended up walking in a line, with Sam leading. As they were about to enter through the wide open front gate, Sam suddenly stopped in his tracks. This caused Myra and the rest to run into him and bounce off of his tree like solidity. The resulting domino effect ended up with the three of them tangled in an awkward heap of bodies, limbs, and Dru's hair.
From her position in the web of boy parts, Myra managed to get enough long silver hair out of her face to see that Sam was still standing in the same spot staring straight ahead.
"What's the matter?" She asked with a slight quiver in her voice.
Hey, I don't want to make him mad and go all PMS-y on me like he did with Meris.
"It's a barrier," he replied (thankfully without the use of any bodily harm to Myra).
"I don't see one" said Dru while he reluctantly allowed Myra to shove him off of her.
"It's very well disguised," Sam added as if he was just continuing his previous statement.
"Now come on, Sam," Dru smirked, "Some caterers just walked through before us. I don't think that mere humans-no offense Myra," he added while turning quickly towards her. "-I don't think that they could just pass through the barrier like it wasn't even there."
At this point Dru took it upon himself to prove his point and walked past Sam.
(BAM! ZIP! ZAP!)
...and the fox demon found himself airborne, then landing about ten feet behind them.
Sam turned to Dru and raised an eyebrow. "This is 'Silversin,' remember."
"Hehe, you're right," Dru said as he got up and brushed himself off. "She probably made it so only humans could pass through."
The three boys simultaneously turned their heads and looked at Myra.
So, um, are they going to ask me to try go through, or not?
Suddenly, Sam put his hand on her back and shoved her straight through the gates. Only she didn't go through.
(BAM! ZIP! ZAP!)
...and Myra was thrown back ten feet, where she was caught by an all-too-ready Dru.
One could think that they planned that.
"Well, I guess that answers that question." Sam said as he put his hands into his pockets.
"Sam!" yelled Meris. "How could you do something like that to Myra?" Typically, Dru would also join in the reproofing of any threats to Myra's physical safety, but he was currently too busy nuzzling her cheek as she attempted to get out of his arms.
