Chapter One: like a Prologue but not one

Laughter could be heard over the tree's leaves ruffling, the breeze being the cause of it. Kids were playing and parents were sitting and talking. As this time of the day is where they can talk to other adults without being bothered so much by there children. It was like any other day. Well almost like any other day.

"Taeil, go hide I'll count!" A taller yet younger child told the other, you could hear the excitement in his voice. He nodded with a giant smile plastered on his face and ran in the other direction from where Johnny stood. Johnny covered his eyes and tucked himself into the dark corner of the wall, that was a few yards from the playground.

Taeil continued to run before deciding to hide under a vacant bench. Taeil looked around seeing his mother and Johnny's mother talking on another bench. Taeil held his laughter and stayed quiet not wanting Johnny to hear him. He didn't know when his friend could come towards him as the starting point was out of his view range.

Taeil stayed there for what seemed like forever. "Where's Johnny?" He muttered quietly to himself. He army crawled further out from under the bench, taking a quick look for his best friend. He didn't see him anywhere. Taeil started to crawl fully out when he felt someone grab his leg.

The older boy screamed and turned around just to see his bestfriend there laughing. "Jesus Johnny! Its not funny! I almost had a heart attack!" Taeil said kicking his friend's arm. "Ow." Johnny said still trying to catch his breath from laughing. "But seriously. it was funny." Johnny added getting up from the ground. Taeil doing the same.

"No." Taeil argued back. "I thought I was being kidnapped or something!" Taeil said placing his hands on his waist. Johnny did the same to mock Taeil. "Yes it was. Anyway your turn to count Taeil" Johnny said, dragging out Taeil name. He picked up his hands and  did a shoo-ing motion. Taeil grumbled before turning and walking to the place Johnny counted at.

He tucked his face into the corner and covered his eyes. "1..2..3.." He began to count to the number they agreed on, 30.

Johnny had ran further out toward the back of the park, determined to find a spot where Taeil could never find him. Johnny stood by tree, that was placed in the empty part of the park. Most kids used the field for sports practice and stuff. He glanced over to see if his mom was looking before running past the tree and towards the bushes at the edge of the park lot, next to a back road. He ducked behind the bushes and peered to side to look at Taeil.

The boys knew they weren't supposed to go further than the tree he passed but for the game, Johnny wasn't to worried on bending his mother's rule. Johnny smiled widely waiting for his friend. He saw Taeil turn around and look around in the closer spots near himself.

Johnny giggled seeing his friend look around. He watched as his buddy looked under the playground equipment, behind tree and under benches. Taeil wandered to the other side of the park closer to where Johnny was. Taeil didn't even look towards the bushes and continued on. Johnny rolled his eyes, laughing lightly. Johnny assumed that since they weren't supposed to pass a certain point, Taeil wasn't gonna bother to look in that direction.

After a few more moments of searching to no avail. "Alright. I give up, Johnny!" He shouted loudly towards the park, causing a few kids to look at him. Even a few parents. "Johnny!" He called out again, waiting for his friend to show up. "Psst~ over here!" Johnny called ducking behind the bush again. Taeil twirled around and raised his eyebrow. "Johnny?" He question and walked out standing next to the tree.

Johnny popped up from the bush with a wide smile. "You quit to easily Taeil." Taeil stood there shaking his head. "No I don't. You broke the rules!" He accused his younger friend. "Nah-ah. You never said th-" He was cut off by his friend. "Well no duh! Both of our mom's told us not to pass this tree! Heck I could get in trouble for being this close to the tree!" Taeil said his arm swing in a dramatic way to get his point across.

The other boy rolled his eyes. "You're dramatic. Let's go before they hear your little show and see us." Johnny said and walked out from behind the bush. Taeil sighed and thought about strangling his friend, who likes to live one the "wild side."

Johnny shrugged as he began to walk from the bushes. The boys nearly jumped out of there shoes when they heard a noise coming from the empty road behind them. "What was that?" Taeil said, already scared. "Probably a animal or something." Johnny added and giving Taeil a tired look. Taeil walking a few steps past the tree. Johnny turn his direction from the park to road and walk towards it. "No! Johnny, where are you going?" He quickly began to question his friends intentions.

"Relax Taeil. I'm just curious. Watch out for the parents. I'm gonna go take a quick look." Johnny said, cautiously walking onto the empty street. "Johnny!" He said again, not being to loud this time. Johnny just waved him off and walked.

It wasn't too before Taeil saw another human peer from behind those big garbage cans, Johnny had passed. immediately Taeil knew something was gonna go down. Johnny walked in the way he heard the noise, calling out to an animal completely oblivious to the person sneaking up on him. "Johnny! Behind you!" Taeil yelled, causing the stranger to run forward and grabbed Johnny.

The stranger held a hand over the boy's mouth and the other wrapped around the boy pulling the struggling kid away towards a van that door was open. Taeil yelled for his and Johnny's mother's as he ran towards the stranger trying to help his friend. "Let him go!" Taeil shouted and began to pull at the kidnapper's arms.

Another man dressed in all black, face hidden jumped out of the van and ripped Taeil from the man who had Johnny. The stranger in all black tossed Taeil back into the road and helped his friend pull Johnny into the van. The van door shut, Johnny inside and the engine started. Taeil held his bleeding elbow and screamed at the van to stop as the van began to drive off. He could hear his mom yelling at him and Johnny's mother freaking out wondering where her son was.

"Taeil- sweetie-" His mother tried to speak to him. "T-they took him mom! they took Johnny!" Tears began to well up in his eyes as held his hurt elbow. Johnny's mother grabbed her phone and is calling emergency services.

Taeil fell to the ground his mother sitting next to him and holding him trying her best to comfort him. While other parents, comfort Johnny's mother.

The van is long gone. His best friend with it. Taeil wasn't sure what was gonna happen. He definitely didn't know it would take 12 more years to ever see him again.
