Olivia made her way past Jane, Ethan's little sister, watching Dusk in the living room, to find Ethan and Benny and the kitchen table surrounded by food Benny has brought, how the two boys spent most of Ethan's parent's date nights.
"Jeez, Benny, what did you do, rob and ice cream truck?" She asked, staring longingly at the gallons of ice cream in front of them. Benny quickly looked up into the girls' beautiful hazel eyes and smiled his signature toothy smile before looking back at Ethan. "Tomorrow, we officially join the high school brotherhood- and sisterhood," he stated, looking back at Olivia. "We are men, and a woman. We must mark the moment." Olivia smiled and sat down, taking some candy they had ignored.
"Let's make it the Sunday to end all Sundays." The boys stated. Olivia looked at the two boys while shoving the candy into her mouth, "Creepy.""Remember in grade 5 when you put 176 of these in your mouth?" Ethan asked Benny, holding up the marshmallows and ignoring Olivia's comment.
"Yeah right, it was 186!"
"No way, I did 172, you did 176."
"You barely hit 150!"
Olivia tolled her eyes, "Considering Benny's big mouth, I wouldn't doubt he did 186." She laughed. The boys ripped into the bag of marshmallows, trying to see once and for all who could fit more in their mouth, not that it mattered. They would be having the exact same argument next year when they did the exact same thing as they did every year.
Olivia looked at the two boys in disgust, "Gross guys." She quickly pointed into the living room, changing her mind, "But not as gross as you'd little sister watching Dusk." Vampire? Not Olivia's thing. Witches and Wizards? Those were more her speed.
She shoved more candy into her mouth as she watched the two boys' 'marshmallow competition.' She had to admit that when with his mouth foaming with marshmallows, Benny still managed to look adorable. Somehow.
Having been friends since grade 2, Olivia was used to the boys' usual antics, and knew for a fact that back in grade 5 she had been the one to fit 186 marshmallows in her mouth, but she didn't feel like ruining their fun today. Tomorrow, on their first day as freshman, maybe.
"Hey Ethan, do you hear that?" Jane asked from the other room.
"Uh, no, I didn't hear anything," Olivia answered for the obviously incapable teen, not looking away from the boys. Grabbing a bucket of Chocolate Strawberry ice cream, her favorite, she heard Jane say "Wow, teenagers really are dumb." Olivia scoffed, looking down at the gallon in front of her, "Yeah, and eight year old are really mean."The boys muttered things to each other, their mouths still full of marshmallows, expecting the other to understand them. Olivia rolled her eyes, opening the lid on her ice cream. The three teens were suddenly stopped by an ear piercing scream outside and a flash of headlights in the window. The three ran out to the front porch to see Jane with Ethan's parents. Ethan spit his marshmallows out on the porch while Benny and Olivia only managed a smile and a tiny wave, Marshmallows falling out of Benny's mouth.
"How was date night?"
