Part 26

Percy POV

Time slowed down. I saw the blade slowly closing the distance between itself and my little sister. If I threw a dagger, it would have enough force to stop the blade. I couldn't concentrate enough to vapour travel in front of her. I then shouted out "Sa-per" meaning miss.

I saw his blade curve out of the way, 2 inches away from her body. I then used all my concentration to vapour travel Elliot to the Hunters. Tartarus looked annoyed. I was relieved that my sister was not dead but I was seething that Tartarus tried to harm her. I took out SoulSlayer and charged him. I swung my sword and he deflected easily. I jabbed at him and he blocked. He slashed at my ankle and it made a light cut but pain erupted from it forcing me to kneel. He then kicked me away. I struggled to stand and just as I did, I saw him charge me. I barely blocked the strike he sent. He sent a flurry of attacks my way and I barely had time to block them. Cut appeared everywhere on my body. My face, my legs, my chest and my arms all had dozens of cuts. I was losing blood very quickly. I could barely even hold my sword. He pushed me in the gut and I doubled over. He then knees my face which broke my nose and kicked me. I broke a few ribs and was sent flying. When I landed, I couldn't stand up. I had no energy. I couldn't defend myself. I saw him slowly approach me.
"You stupid child. You are weak. Did your really think you could beat me just because you have a new weapon? You disgust me. You need your friends to protect you. You couldn't protect your family. You are worthless. You can't win. Give up hero" said Tartarus. Every word he said, he sent a kicked or punch at me. I felt my bones breaking but I couldn't scream in pain. I had no energy to.
"Stand up and face me child or are you to weak" he taunted. I tried crawling away from him but even the slightest bit of movement hurt. I saw the demigods slowly being pushed back by the sheer number of monsters. I heard the screams of those who died trying to protect their home. I saw him raise his blade to end my suffering but just then, a small pebble like thing hit him and tendrils of lighting hit Tartarus and he flew back. I looked up to see a small girl with determination in her eyes and a rune bag in her hand. Maria was trying to protect me.
"Maria run! Save yourself" I shouted at her but she couldn't her me. She was deaf. She turned towards the now smoking Tartarus who was growling.
"Insolent girl. Why do you stand up for such a weakling. He does not deserve you love or protection" Tartarus said.
She couldn't hear him and threw the rune Isa meaning ice. Ice started to form around Tartarus's legs but he melted it off with fire from the Phlegethon and melted it. She then summoned the rune Kenaz meaning fire. A wall of flames erupted in front of Tartarus but he just walked through it. Maria kept throwing runes at the primordial but he just continued walking forward. When he reached her, he grabbed her by her shirt and lifter her up into the air. She struggled and tried to break free but the sheer strength of primordials are too much. He then slammed her body straight into the ground with a sickening crack of bones breaking. I stared in horror as I looked at the unmoving figure of the daughter of Hecate. I screamed until my throat was sore and my voice was hoarse. My pain and cut disappeared from my body and I looked over at Tartarus with hatred in my eyes. I stood up and used all my anger and power in saying this word of power "Sa-mir" meaning pain.

Suddenly Tartarus screamed in pain and fell to his knees. I used that chance to run at him at the speed of sound. I ran at him and made a flurry of slashes with SoulSlayer. Cuts appeared all around his body all bleeding ichor. I knew at the back of my mind that I couldn't beat him but at that moment, I wanted to do as much damage as possible to the primordial for hurting my friend. My spell was still in effect making him feel pain and that made him barely able to block my strikes. He blasted me with Phlegethon fire, Styx water and even water from the river Lethe all of which I controlled at made evaporate. He was slowly losing energy while I still was powered by my anger. He then made a final attempt and blasted me away with pure godly power. The blast didn't kill me, but it did leave me severely injured. Tartarus stood up panting and bleeding. He gave me a look of pure hatred and came over. Before he even took one step, a glowing blue khopesh came flying and embedded itself between me and the primordial. I looked over and smiled. The cavalry had arrived. There stood Carter Kane along with the rest of the house of life. The khopesh flew back into Carter's hands just as Sadie shouted out her favourite spell "Ha-di"

Tartarus was blasted back and carter came rushing towards him in giant chicken form. Sadie also rushed to help her brother. The rest of the magicians were helping out the demigods and pushed back the enemy. I then heard a battle cry "For Flam". I turned around to see a bare chested Halfborn Gunderson charging the enemy. The gang from floor 19 had arrived. Magnus and Alex came to help with the primordial while the rest went to work on the monsters. Magnus ran up to me and summoned the power of Frey and healed me. I gasped as my cuts healed and my ribs popped back into place. I sat up and saw Tartarus getting beaten up. Carter was slashing at him making large cuts everywhere. Sadie was throwing spell after spell at him. Alex used his garrote and caught Tartarus's right leg. He (Alex was a boy today) used his einherja strength and held on while Tartarus struggled. Sadie used the ribbons of Hathor to bind his left hand to the ground. Carter stabbed his sword through Tartarus's left leg which caused him to scream out in pain. Magnus summoned Jack who embedded himself into the primordial's hand making it go limp. I struggled to my feet and walked over to him.
"It's over Tartarus" I said with SoulSlayer above his head.
"It's never over boy. I have released all the monsters from my domain" he growled. I then chopped his head of and he disappeared into the realm of the faded. I then looked at all of them who were beaded with sweat. The monsters were all gone but if Tartarus was speaking the truth, they would be back soon.
"Thanks guys, now I need to take to take a nap. Wake me never" I said before falling asleep as exhaustion caught up with me. I used too much magic today and then I drifted into the realm of Hypnos.
