Chapter 4: Aftermath

Manny woke up, groaning. He felt his head in a daze. Before him was a blurry red figure and a blurry green figure. Was... was he in heaven...? He reached his hand out, feeling someone grab it.

He felt his hand being rubbed softly in a comforting way. He then felt the one of blurry figures run their fingers through his hair. Then he felt the other figure brush his hair behind his ear, which made him giggle a bit because it kinda tickled.

His vision began clearing up and he was able to see the blurry figures much clearer.

"H... Harry..." he whimpered out, tears welling up.

"Hey, Manny..." Harry's voice echoed through his head. Manny smiled as his vision fixed itself, there being two familiar figures in front of him.

"... Robin..."

"Yes?" Robin gave a smile.

"You're here..." he giggled. "You're... am... I dead?" "... I certainly hope not!" Robin looked at Harry. "Look around you," Harry suggested. Manny sat up and did so, seeing he was in a hospital.

"... What happened?" he asked them

He looked back and gasped. "Wait... are you...?"

"Ow!" Harry winced as his hair was pulled.

"You are!! You're real!!" Manny jumped out of the bed he was in, hugging both of them. Harry settled him back into bed.

"Careful, don't want your IV falling out!" Robin exclaimed. Manny laughed happily, tears falling down. The expression of excitement was too much to express for him...

Then his smile fell. He suddenly remembered what happened before he passed out.

"Manny? Honey, are you ok?" Robin asked noticing Manny's smile disappeared.

"Are YOU guys ok?" Manny asked them. "I saw my d-...Roy hurt you two really really badly." Manny began to tear up a bit, thinking about what he witnessed. Harry and Robin looked at each other with worriedly.

"Manny we're alright." Harry reassures the child.

"Are you sure?" Manny asks, tears pricking in his eyes. Harry nods as he and Robin embrace him tightly.

Then a doctor came in and asked Harry and Robin to step out and talk to him.

"We'll be back, honey." Harry tells Manny, kissing his forehead. He and Robin walk out of the room.

Manny was left on the hospital bed with only his thoughts. He couldn't believe what had happened before he passed out. It was like he turned into a completely different person. He was so confused. Then out of no where, he felt someone touch his shoulder.

He yelped loudly and turned around. Behind him was Danny. He huffs a bit.

"Can you not scare me like that?!" Manny groans.
