Tabitha's head throbbed painfully as she struggled to rise from her bed, feeling heavier than ever, as if an invisible burden was weighing her down. Overwhelmed, she reached out to her housemates for assistance just to get out of bed. With a mind clouded by a thick fog, she couldn't fathom a reason for her excruciating state, no explanation could penetrate the haze.
She somehow managed to reach the Great Hall, using the walls for support every step of the way.
A cheerful voice broke the silence, "Hey, looks like you had a bit of a rough start. Good morning!" Tabitha slowly lifted her head and glared at the person who dared to be so peppy so early in the day. But her expression quickly turned to one of shock as she realized who had spoken to her.
James Potter stood there with a charming smile on his face. Tabitha glanced anxiously around the Great Hall, silently hoping that he had approached someone else, but she quickly realized that she was one of the earliest there, with no one seated beside her.
"Hey Tabitha," James repeated, his chuckle breaking through her nervous glance around the room. "I was talking to you," he clarified.
Tabitha blinked at him, surprised, "You know my name?"
James's smile faded momentarily, and he chuckled in response to her question, before sitting down across from her. "You're oddly humorous for someone with a bad hangover," he quipped.
