Bey's P.O.V.
I woke with a start, seeing Shawn packing our few belongings.
"Good, you're up. We have to get out of here." I pulled the sheets from off of my naked body, remembering the amazing love that my husband made to me the night before.
"Why?" I asked as I yawned at reached down, placing on a thong and bra before heading to the bathroom to brush my teeth. He sighed, slapping a cap on his head while I rinsed my mouth and rushed on some BB cream, which is the only makeup I figured I would have time for. I dressed myself quickly and put on the belt, sliding the guns into their correct holsters.
"Don is on the way." I rolled my eyes, realizing that we would never catch a break, and gripped his hand, grabbing my duffel bag with the other. We walked out to the car, the Sun barely rising on the horizon, leaving the sky mostly dark.
"Did you put the motorcycle in the trunk?"
"Yeah." He sat in the driver's seat and put the car in reverse, about to back out. I gave him a soft pout and crossed my arms over my chest.
"I believe you forgot something, Mr. Carter." He smiled.
"I apologize, Mrs. Carter." I felt my lips curl up into a smile and he placed a soft kiss on my lips. Just like that, we were back on the road. The car hummed softly beneath us as I rested my head on his shoulder watched as we treaded the miles away.
"So where are we headed to next?"
"Change of route, actually. It seems Diaz is already stationed for us in Vegas, so we're going to have to detour up and work our way back down until I think they're gone."
"How did he even know where we were?" His warm hand pulled me closer into him.
"He knows a lot of things." I nodded simply before turning on the radio and continuing conversation. Hours went by and I looked up into the rearview mirror, noticing a brown Sedan that had been behind us for the past few miles.
"It looks like we've got company," I said, sitting up and grabbing a gun from one of the holsters in my belt. Jay swerved lanes quickly, but the Sedan stayed right on our trails.
"It looks like you're right." I rolled down the window and stuck my arm out of the window, firing a few shots, landing bullets in their winshield. They, whoever they were, then moved over to the lane next to us and began gaining in speed. I pulled out an even bigger gun, preparing for a real shoot out. We may be small in number, but we are great with one thing; precision. I rarely miss my target and I haven't seen Jay miss one yet. I rolled the window up as the Sedan settled next to us. Then it began. Bullets threatened us from the outside, And I just cracked the window enough to stick the gun out and shot directly at the same spot about 3 times. That was the perfect amount to cause the window to shatter and I smirked in satisfaction. I shot at the driver, but his side kick was the real threat, considering he was the one with the gun. I finally landed a bullet in the driver's arm and his speed slowed, but not enough for them to end up behind us. I aimed a bit higher and hit my bullseye- his head. The car halted and swerved off the highway and into the barren desert. Jay pulled to the side and kissed my forehead.
"Good girl." I smiled and kissed his lips. We got out, seeing the empty streets, and approached the SUV, our guns at the ready. When we finally got close enough to the scene to see, we found the driver dead with a bullet wound to his head, and the side-kick/passenger passed out, blood streaming acrost his stomach. Just to finish him off, Jay shot him twice in the chest and I pressed two fingers to his neck, finding no more pulse.
"Don is close. These are his men." Jay pulled the hand of the passenger up so that I could see a strange symbol etched on it. "See this sign?" I nodded. "This is Don's gang symbol. Of course, Don is the head of that gang, so since he's after us, they all are. But if you see this sign anywhere ma, you get ready to shoot."
"Okay, baby." I looked at him, stiffling back laughter.
"What?" he asked, a smiling hinting at his lips too.
"Nothing it's just, the guy looks like Ice JJ Fish," I replied with a childish giggle.
"There's somethin' about cha girl," he sang with a wide grin.
"That j-j-j-just makes me wanna twirl," I finished with a boisterous laugh. I wrapped my arms around his neck and let our lips move as one, feeling the heat from the Sun radiate to us.
"No but forreal, we should get out of here before the police get here," he said after releasing the kiss.
"Okay daddy," I whispered in his ear. He flashed a white row of teeth and threw me over his shoulder before placing me in the passenger seat.
"Nice try."
