I slowly walk downstairs knowing when my mother says those words it's never a good thing.

When I get to the bottom I see my mum and dad sitting at the table talking in hushed voices. When I reach the bottom step they jerk their heads up and stare at me with sad faces. Oookayyy this is weird.

"Come here sky, me and Douglas have something important to tell you" Douglas? That's weird she never calls him Douglas in front of me, it's always your farther.

"Okay" I walk over and sit down on the nearest chair Which happens to be next to my dad. "Honey I was going to wait until your sixteenth birthday to tell you this but I figured it would ruin your special day so I'm going to tell you now" she pauses and wait for me to say anything then when I don't she continues "before I tell you this you must promise to stay until I'm finished telling you both things" she looks straight at me waiting for my answer and I can see the tears glistening in her eyes. "I promise mum" she seemed to flinch at the word mum maybe I was just seeing things. "Okay well since Douglass knows how to just come out with this sorta thing he can tell you the first and ill tell the second" I look over at my dad wishing they would just hurry up because the waiting is killing me. "Okay well me and Wendy are wolf hunters." I sat there and stared at them for about five seconds and then I did what any normal person would do. I laughed. "We're serious" I stopped laughing "seriously? That's just stupid." My mum looked at me "let Douglas explain more" I looked toward my farther nodding for him to continue "the world isn't all it seems to be sky. There are many things you don't know about and one of them being werewolfs. They are born normally and live a life just like a human until their sixteenth birthday when they do their first change and become the crazy, wild animals that lived within them. They are no longer human in that form and are dangerous so that's why there are people like me and Wendy that hunt them down and kill them" he let that sink in before he continued "they all change at sixteen unless they are male and have alpha blood in them resulting in them turning early because they are the leaders of the packs and are stronger. Every wolf has a mate and I've heard they describe it like their other half, their soulmate. Which is lucky for us because if we kill their mate they become weak and beg for death." He stops and stares at me before asking "are you with me so far?" I just nod and wait for him to continue "okay then. Well an alphas mate is called a Luna and helps lead when the alpha is away. The hunters don't know too much about them but we have a plan that will help open our eyes" I nod again not knowing what to say because dad looks like he's serious but they really can expect me to believe this bullsh!t can they? So all I reply with is a simple "uh huh" my mum then looks at me " okay well we know that's hard to believe but this won't be" a see a tear escape from her eye, she wipes it away before continuing "honey your not our daughter" wow well that was straight forward. I look at her and laugh nervously "haha that's funny mum" another tear falls from her eye before she says in her most serious voice "I'm not lying. I found you on my doorstep one evening and took you in" the memories come back in a rush

The blue eyes with white flakes

The cloaked figure saying goodbye

The fact that I look nothing like my mum and dad or should I say Douglas and Wendy.

"No" I whisper "it can't be true, but it is" I can't take this. I get up. And run off out the house crying
