Chapter 7- Its only you...

I fell to the ground and waited for the worst. Nothing happened. I looked up to see my parents there staring at me. Suddenly I heard a battle cry from my right and saw my dads best friend charging at me. "Great, just great" I mutter to myself. I'm going to have to fight either naked or in my wolf form. Even though it was really cold I decided to stay in my human form. The guy, will, was almost at me and I decided to stay still. Will kept coming still and swung his sword towards me. I tensed up and waited but I felt nothing. I heard swords clashing and I looked up to see that my dad had deflected will's sword. I couldn't understand why. Until my dad spoke in a hushed voice- thinking i couldn't hear- "don't hurt her, she wouldn't hurt us. Maybe we can use her to find more or even experiment on her like we did to her mutt. "But Douglas that experiment failed and the stupid dog lost most intelligence and is unable to shift. Not to mention he almost died and it is extremely painful." What where they talking about? Then I saw the limp body in the corner of the yard.

Ringo. Now I understand why he was so big and was smarter than the average dog. He seemed to be better in every way and its was because of what they did. I felt the anger bubbling inside me. They turned a werewolf like me into a dog. "How could you?" I asked my farther in disbelief. He looked at me and smiled "your not any different from them" he spat at me "your kind is worse! They kill any person they see! Any animal! Any living creature your kind kills, your monsters and don't deserve to live in this world. You all should all die or be changed into a lap dog that obeys my every command." He yelled at me. "I'll turn you into one. It involves big needles, a lot of pain and modifying your DNA adding bits in of a normal dog. Ringo was the first to make it. Stupid mutt had to go ahead and attack me though. He's dead now" he laughed when he saw one tear fall from my eye. Ringo was gone. We aren't the monsters here..he is, they are!

Will looked over at Ringo and laughed he then walked over to him and kicked him over and over. He suddenly bent down "hey come have a look at this" they all walked over leaving me alone. Thinking I was either too stupid or too upset to run. Ringo's body then twitched and started to spasm. Douglas bent over trying to have a better look when Ringo's paw came up and scratched him along the right side of his face. "He's not dead! Kill him!" He yells holding his face.

I use this distraction to my advantage and shift. I grab my bag in my mouth and run into the forest for my life "she's getting away!" I heard someone yell. I run even faster and deeper into the woods. I run for hours and eventually collapse, my muscles in my legs burning. I'm exhausted and fall into a dreamless sleep.

I wake in the middle of the night, not feeling completely rested but better than I was before. I start running again and it's not long until I reach a road. I put my bag down and shift back into my human form. I slip on clothes from the bag and I also take a drink from my water. I walk along the road holding my arm out, hoping to get a ride. After about an hour I finally see a car come down the road and I try wave it down. It stops and I walk to the passenger door. I open the door and smile gratefully at the driver who smiles back. "Hello sir, thanks for stopping" I say while doing up my seatbelt. "No problem. My name is Gary where you headed?" He replies while pulling back onto the road "The biggest forest I can find. Oh and I'm sky by the way" I smile "well your in luck because I have to drive right past that particular forest. What you doing going to the Green mountains anyway?" He asks. Shoot I didn't think this far ahead. I figured the biggest forest would give me room to run so all I replied with was a grunt and "I heard they have great wildlife there, beats the loud city any day" he just nods.
