SVU.. Nick, Esmee and Olivia stay late at work.

"wait go back" Esmée says looking into the screen.

She convinced something would come up on the video

"Okay.... stop" she points at a window that showed for a split second while played, "it's day there. It's nearly midnight. They said this was live"

"So, they make the video, frame Duke from workshop, and think we'll bag the wrong guy?", Olivia asked

"But why", Nick asked.

"Because she's scared", Esmée says, thinking aloud.

"She?"Nick repeated.

"That's a lot of work for a guy to go through. So I know he raped Mia, so I, Camille, tell her she doesn't go unless she promises to testify against Duke for it. Mia doesn't agree so I lash out and kill her out of anger. Yet that was her mistake" Esmée says putting myself in the mind of the killer.

"Yet Duke knows this is coming so he takes care of Camille on video as a message?" Olivia says

"But before he gets her she plans and plans. If she frames Duke it's no longer only our case..." Nick starts.

"...it gets the FBI involved" Esmée finishes.

"Once they come, were knocked off" He finished her thoughts.

"So it's almost as if that's what she wants, for the FBI to see her" Nick says not looking at her.

"Nick serious-"

"So what do we do. We can't arrest her because that damn lawyer" he say talking on and ignoring me.

"That bickering of y'all's is what I won't miss" Our unit chief, Craghen walks in. "You all should go home. You'll be in early tomorrow morning, we have a new case and miss Couture has a lot of paper work to go through I'm sure"

"So that's it?"

"It's no longer our case Esmée. This isn't like the other cases we've gotten thrown off of"

Everyone is gone but Esmée and Nick.

She finds him walking out to his car.

"Nick. NICK!", she called out to him.

He reluctantly turns to meet her worried eyes.

"Are you gonna be okay with out me here", she says nudging him.

He'd always been wondering about her. Like how she makes it to work alive everyday with Adam, her boyfriend, at home.

"I'll make out", he laughs

"No. Nick, be honest with me. We've been partners for 3 years. I can tell you're lying" she says as he gets in his car.

"You're right. But is it that or your profiling skills?", He say stubbornly.

"Nick.."

"Get in the car, Esmée", he says opening the passenger side door.

"And what about my bike?" she said getting in any way.

"I'll pick it up later. I don't want you riding this late by yourself"

"I'm a detective too you know!" she says laughing at him.

He pulls out of the parking lot and the two ride in silence

They get to her house but Nick doesn't feel right leaving her alone with Adam.
