Alli's P.O.V.

The next morning, I awake with a groan. Still groggy, I peer at the clock next to the bed. I curse myself as I see it reads 8:30. I'm never up this early: maybe it's the nerves. I look around and notice that Shawn is up and talking with the guys. I'm immediately self conscious of my crusty fresh-out-of-bed appearance.

"I know that she's single, but I'm into her. Please respect that. You can't go for her!" Shawn says.

He sighs and runs his hands through his hair. I gotta admit, he looks incredibly hot doing that. Who wouldn't want to wake up to a shirtless, frustrated Shawn. I think about all the girls back home that would kill for this view. I don't blame them. I snap back to reality once someone speaks again.

"But dude, if she doesn't feel the same way, you have to let her go," Matt replies.

"What's going on?" I ask.

I clear my throat to make my slight morning voice go away. As soon as I say this, Shawn turns beet red. The rest of the boys look extremely suspicious. However, I brush it off and look to my best friend for answers.

"Um, nothing," He replies. "The guys were just telling me that we're going to six flags today, so we should get dressed. Bye guys."

Shawn gets a few scoffs and annoyed laughs as the boys file out of the room. I even hear someone mutter "pussy" under their breath.

"Oh-kay," I say as they leave. "Now do you wanna tell me what's really going on?"

"It was nothing. Don't worry about it."

"Shawn, I know that face. Is it that you have a crush? You said you're into 'her'. Who is it? Mahogany?" I admit, I'm kinda jealous. I mean, Shawn would be the perfect boyfriend, the boyfriend Josh never was. He could be anything any girl ever wanted. He's just that...perfect.

"It's not Mahogany! Actually, it's no one. I think you heard me wrong. I don't have a crush."

"Okay, but if you do, I gotta know."

"Look Alli, you have to trust me on this. If you knew what we were saying, it could ruin something VERY special to me. And it might put you in an awkward place. I don't wanna be responsible for that."

"Awkward, why?"

He exhales frustratedly. "Just forget everything you heard, okay?"

"Sure, whatever," I dismiss as I get up to get dressed. I hate arguing with him, I always have.

When the entire group is ready, we hop in the designated van and head to the amusement park. I can't enjoy my time here because My mind keeps clouding with thoughts and speculations about this morning. Who is this girl that Shawn is into? And why do I care so much? I sit on the bench as Mahogany waltzes over.

"Hey girlie. Whatcha doing?" She asks.

"Nothing, just thinking."

"About what?"

Shawn, I think.

"What about Shawn?" I've had a bad habit of thinking out loud since middle school.

"Umm... I don't think it's a good idea to say."

"Come on, tell me."

"Fine, but if I tell you, you can't tell anyone. Ok?"

"Sure. Now what's up?"

"Something's been off about the way we've been interacting. After my breakup a few weeks ago, I've just been seeing him in a whole new light. Which sucks, because he was telling the guys this morning how he's so into some girl."

"Oh. I'm sorry."

"I know. Great timing right?"

"Look, if Shawn really loves another girl, you should be happy for him. I know that you may feel different about him, but set him free. If he comes back, it's meant to be."

"You're so corny." I say smiling. "But thanks. That means a lot."

"Anytime. Now can we PLEASE go have some fun?"

"Sure." She grabs my hand and leads me to the rides.

We have fun and enjoy them until dark. By the time we reach the hotel, everyone is tired.

"Goodnight guys. Shawn and I are going to bed."

Everyone yells goodnight. We quickly reach the room, change, and crawl into bed.

"Goodnight Shawn." His smile practically glows in the darkness of the hotel room.

"Goodnight Alli."

I hate to admit it, but I am falling for my best friend. Fast.
