We all sat in the boys' home studio while going over the setlist for their album. The boys replayed the songs as Daniel sat beside me, notebook in hand. He tapped his pencil on the book as he was lost in his own world. He scribbled something down, then crossed it out if it didn't sound write.

"How's the love song going, Dani?" I asked and rested my hand on his thigh. He exhaled deeply and rested his head back on the couch.

"I'm getting there. Slowly but surely. I just can't get the pre-chorus down." Daniel handed me the notebook. My eyes scanned over the scribbles, reading it carefully.

Verse 1 (Jonah): I've been hurt before so I don't trust / Now here we are, staring at the ceiling

Pre-Chorus (Zach): -

Chorus (Jack): If all it is is eight letters / why is it so hard to say? / If all it is is eight letters / why am I in my own way?

The song was amazing the way it was. But it still needed that pre-chorus to bring it all together. I thought for a second, trying to come up with something that may be good. I held my hand out for the pen. Daniel gave it to me and I wrote around Daniel's scribbles.

"I've said those words before but it was a lie, and you deserve to hear them a thousand times," Daniel read out loud. He went through the song, singing the newly added part with it. His eyes lit up as he looked at me. "That's it. That's the part that's been missing. You're a genius, Baby."

Daniel kissed my cheek before walking over to the boys, showing them what he had come up with. They all fell in love with it and started to come up with the beat and rhythm right away.

"You know, you should really write for us sometime." Corbyn said, sitting beside me. "From what I read of your book and just that little line, you're a great writer."

"Have you heard back from that publisher yet?" Jack asked while him and Zach pushed each other around.

"Not yet," I sighed and bit the inside of my cheek. It was nearing the end of the week and I haven't even seen Derek. It worried me that he didn't like my writing, but I didn't wanna seem pushy and ask him about it.

"He'd be a fool to not publish your book, Madison. And if he doesn't, them we'll find someone who will." Zach said, busting out his chest like a superhero. We all looked at him before bursting into laughter.

"Okay, but seriously. You're an amazing writer, and if Derek doesn't see that, then someone else will." Corbyn said with a smile.

"You guys are the best, you know that?" It warmed my heart to know that I've only known these boys for about 4 months and they were practically family to me.

"Anything for you, Pretty Girl." Daniel placed a kiss on my cheek. All the boys around fake gagged. "Okay c'mon, you guys act like you don't have girlfriends."

"You're still in the honeymoon phase, Dani Boy." Corbyn joked and sent a wink our way.
