Stuck in the middle

Chapter 1: newbie

hi I'm Kenzie I'm 17 and I moved houses with my parents.long story short I used to live in Canada but I now live in America . I'm starting college but I'm really nervous about it . I'm starting tomorrow and I need to un-pack and probably go to the mall to get clothes, there's so much to do with little time .it all makes me anxious but i guess this is my life now.

I walk down the stairs to see my mum speaking on the phone  I don't have a dad because he  left when I was 3 I don't think I ever want to see him. "Hey mum" I say,
She turns around and smiles
"Hey hunny uh I need to speak to u in a minute after this phone call" she softly says.
"Alright mum I'll be outside if u need me".
She nods.
I haven't seen my neighbors today it's odd but not unusual. I walk around for a bit then I sit down on the bench near some flowers at the back. I flick my book open and rest my feet up on the other end on the bench.

After reading about 3 pages I feel a strong piercing at the back of my neck, I turn around to see a boy about 19-20 standing in the window looking right at me , his hair was wavy colored  dark brown with light streaks I managed to see the out line of his jaw with his green eyes . He was cute . I turned my head round before I seemed like a creepy and kept reading.

I've got through about 9 pages now and that's when I hear a loud noise.
"BANG!"
"AHH!" I screamed startled
"SORRY!" Someone yelled.
I look over it's my mum, she starts laughing "I'm sorry I didn't know how to use the door" she tells me. I laugh too "it's alright mum u just scared me"I replied . "Anyway I wanted to speak to u" I'm nervous now. "ummm what about? is it something serious??" I ask
She smiles "noooo I just wanted to know what u wanted to eat" i let out a breath of relief .  "Ohhhh dominos and I'll get it " I said . "Ok darling u know what pizza I like".

I grab my purse and shut the door, I briskly walk to my car, unlock it and climb inside. I shut the door and turn on the engine. It takes a moment but starts up. I peer around to see the same neighbor at the window but with two other people however they  weren't all looking at me, only the one I saw before was, I stared at him for a bit until he broke it by turning his head, when he faced me again he was talking to someone but he smirked at me followed by a little wink. I looked away in embarrassment and started to reverse.

I arrive at the dominos and enter. I walk to the Counter and read the menu boards , when I am knocked from my thoughts. "Hello what can I get you" a voice says, I look up to see a boy my age talking to me "oh um can I have a cheese and pepperoni pizza please" I say softly . "Yes of course" I smile "thank you" he nods.
I grab my phone from my pocket and start to text my mum saying I'm going to be 10 minutes . I look up and they have my food I walk to the counter again. "This is for you my lady " the boy says "thank you very much" I say back it was quite awkward but I didn't really mind. I exited dominos . i noticed when I was walking out a gang of people at the back talking quite loud so I hurried to my car before I could be involved. I grabbed my keys but some how they slipped out of my hands onto the concrete floor.it made a jingle and before I knew it I got down picked them up and everyone stood staring at me before I moved a faint voice spoke " you all right cutie" I turned and nodded. Id admit I was embarrassed and nervous because no one was talking, so I decided to quickly get into my car and drive off.

**           At home.    **

'Hello I'm back" I shouted loudly
"Oh hey dear that was quick" I heard my mum say
"Yh it was I was surprised too" we laughed. I set the pizza down on the table and sat opposite mum.
" your pizzas there ma" I softly said
"Thank you hunny pepperoni?" She questioned "yhhhhh".
We tucked in and it was delicious I'm actually kinda excited for tomorrow.

After I finished me and my mum watched a movie until 12:00 she went to bed so I did the same. I yawned and pushed my door open. A breeze hit my face it was freezing and I didn't even open a window but there was one opened . *sighs* i close it and turn out . O.m.g
